Dark Angels Colours

Brother Darklight

Recommended Posts

Greetings Dark Angels!

A recent snap decision has lead myself and a friend to split on a Dark Vengeance box. He wanted the Chaos, which leaves this Black Templar with some rather attractive Dark Angels models.

Of the newer range of Citadel colours, what are the ones you fine gentlemen use to get your Angels, Deathwing and Ravenwing to look Dark Angel-y?

PS. Looks like you have a new Battle Brother in your ranks, just in time for the new Codex release B)

Check out Bryan Blaire's very informative thread here:

Welcome aboard too! This is about the best time to be a Dark Angels player that there has even been, at lest so far as as models are concerned. Lots of unique stuff coming our way.

Personally I am using Army Painter paints for my Dark Angels. Both their Primers and the new Warpaints line

I start with Angel Green spray Primer

Touch up with Angel Green brushon

Wash with a 3:1 mix of Thrakka Green and Badab Black

Drybrush Greenskin

Wash with Thrakka Green

It seems to work well and is fairly quick to do. It's another option than GW...

For my Deathwing I use Skeleton Bone Primer and Brushon

Can't comment on bone and black at the moment as I've not started work there, although I have a rough idea with the former.

My paint scheme is essentially this though:

http://taleofpainters.blogspot.co.uk/2012/...ngels-from.html

Essentially:

1. Prime black

2. Caliban Green bascoat

3. Black line recesses

4. Edge highlight warboss green

5. Further light edge highlight of skarsnik green

I don't do my robes the same though.

Will put up a photo of one that I painted a little later.
