Mortem Lux

Hello, brothers. The sons of the Nostraman lord are the subject of this army. I'm thankful to one of my fellows on here for letting me have the company I wanted. Doubtful that I set them for 30k, but a strong usable 40k warband is the desire. I will post any battle reports for any games I play. Most of my pictures are loaded onto my flicker with an easy paint guide for the steps I used to create this army. Most of my army is standard easy conversions via parts from other marine factions. I admit I've done a bit of math hammer for most of my army to maximize effectiveness. I'm grateful to a buddy of mine who no longer plays chaos for hooking me up with a tone of spare parts, 10 terminators, a vindicator, and three spare chaos rhinos. I had started into chaos with Emperor's Children, but grew tired of that idea, Night Lords always intrigued me. The army ultimately started from the Dark Vengence models. The moment I saw those models I knew I was staring into the night and it stared back. Since the release another friend gave me her 5 loyalist terminators, dreadnought, and loyalist marines from Assault on Black Reach, who have all been stripped of imperial regalia. I also picked up a box of chaos terms, I'm sitting on two squads of 10 full terms, loathing the fact that we do not have anyone like the Dark Angels or Space Wolves players have to make them troops. I promise to try and keep updates on here and on my Flickr to keep you all aware of my status. Please be patient as I am a appliance sales person and in the holiday season I only get 1 day off per week.

I like it man good stuff. big fan of the warp talons and the custom aegis turrets. can i assume from this that we will be seeing a forgefiend in the works?

Just with your thread name vii legion is imperial fists. Night lords are viii legion. wouldnt want to get mixed up with the custard brigade.

Ah bloody hell. Hey kids, who wants to make a WIP tracker for their army tonight? Spaz raises his hand. I havent slept in several days. Good enough, it's the Internet. No one will care. *palm to face*

Thanks for the catch. Totally boned that one. Hopefully I can fix that.

Actually at the moment, I do not own a forge fiend. One of the guys from the "World of Battle" aka Memphis Battle Bunker had those and didn't need it and saw a great opportunity for something devious looking on the table. Worked out splendidly.

Edit: YAY! Fixed it.

Edit 2: Looking back at my aegis, I should have used one of the spare shields from Vampire Counts army I started and quickly abandoned. WHFB is not the game for the Spaz. My raptor champion has a shield assembled onto him. I'll add a pic after work this evening.

Ha ha its just an "I" buddy.

Yeah very cool cannons im looking forward to seeing the wall take shape. and idea could be to drape loyalist bodies cut open all over the fortifications to sow fear in their enemies as they charge in.... hmmmmm must make aegis defence line of my own some day :P

I may have pulled a belicheck on your WIP. So you are good to go on co-opting my idea it's so easy of a conversion. I'm a former Dark Eldar player, believe me I have a ton of spare chain bits and skulls floating around.

Minor update. Due to placing a shield upon the arm of my raptor champion, I've decided to give the other champs shields to illustrate status in the warband. Flickr has a start photo of the shields.

Edit: Also I've begun the painting on the Atramentar.

Sorry for the delay in updates. The holiday season is hell on hobbies. I took all my viable spare bits and created claw 3 today. This unit will be my close combat specialists. All the models have pistols, CCWs, and bolters strapped to their backs. I will get a pic of them up soon on the flicker, along with my steps for the bat wing helms and shoulders.

Also today, I played in a 7 man 200+- point kill-team/city fight game. The opponents were a space wolf, 3 blood angels, an ork, a chaos marine, and the Mortem Lux. I ran a 9 man squad marked by nurgle's presence, plasma, power fist/combi-plasma. Yes I think I may have gone over a little bit over 200. I deployed into the center of the map, giving me sights on all opponents. One of the blood angels, jump marines, went first, and moved toward the space wolves. The ork went next and moved his truck flat out. The chaos player shot the truck crushing it. The second blood angel, vanguard vets, moved out from cover. The third blood angel, flesh tearer, shot at the wolves with plasma cannon killing 3, and himself. I moved to were I could see the downed truck and chose to plasma some of the Orks killing 1 and wounding another. The space wolf moved close to the blood angel and made his assault safely tying each other up for two rounds. The rest of us moved on. The Orks moved and waaghed and made their assault safely at the other chaos player tying them up for two rounds. The blood angel moved toward of the flesh tearer. The flesh tearer moved into a more secure location and was able to take 1 shot at the blood angel killing a model. I moved the night lords back into the center of the map and posted up in to secure locations. The space wolves died in close combat to the blood angels. The assault angel the moved his troops. The vanguard moved toward the flesh and tied each other up for two rounds in shooting. I begin shooting the other chaos who was protected by Nurgle also. Killing one. He and I began trading shots for two rounds. I focused fire and killed off his champion and he killed one of my troops with a missile. The vanguard finished off the flesh tearer. Another wasted round of shooting on the other chaos player. The vanguard used his position on the field to fire on my night lords. Realizing that mat wards work is a bigger problem to me than 2 Nurgle marines, I turn and begin shooting at the vanguards. 4 rounds later he is down one marine as an I. The Nurgle marine leaves game due to life, and concedes defeat to me. The vanguard and I begin moving toward each other both losing a model due to difficult terrain tests. I'm at this point down to 6 marines and he is at 4. We shot out one model apiece. I decide that the shooting is getting boring and keep moving toward his troops. He agrees and moves also. He rapid fires and kills one model. I move into range to assault. I fire pistols and kill his last 3 models. And the planet belongs to the night.
