Daemon2027
Hi, I did a search but couldn't really find an answer for my question. In Betrayal, under the entry for Legion Terminator Squad, it says upgrade to Cataphractii for free. So if you do not do this, what pattern should terminators wear. Tartaros? Or is their another mark? Tartaros armour doesn't seem to be available in the HH section of the Forge World site, do you think they will be releasing a Legion Tartaros set like they did with the PA marks? On last question, which pattern would be best for the Alpha Legion? I'm guessing Tartaros as the background i have read suggests they were issued with the newest armours. hobointherain
iirc the legions were phasing out cataphractii armour in favour of the termi armour standard in 40k, I forget its name now. As for tartaros armour, the deathshroud have it so I personally see no problem in kitting out your guys in tartaros armour, can't really understand why they've been left out of the heresy section. Theres nothing fluff wise that I've seen that places them as specifically post-heresy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268325-legion-terminator-squads/#findComment-3268170 Share on other sites
Count the7
Im sure the curent TDA is Indomatus Pattern. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268325-legion-terminator-squads/#findComment-3268183 Share on other sites
Haranin
There is nothing wrong with the Tartaros armor per se; its just the crux terminus is post HH. So you would need to do quite a bit of filing to make them appropriate. Or use them mid to late HH and assert that the loyalists were using it as a symbol... :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268325-legion-terminator-squads/#findComment-3268269 Share on other sites
SillyDreadnought
Non-Cataphractii suits are ( currently ) Tartaros and Indomitus. There's nothing stopping you from converting your own specific pattern of Terminator armour to fill the gap for a more gothic look over the relatively plain plastic Indomitus or resin Tartaros. Considering how there was no set pattern ( as all TDA was still experimental at the time of the Heresy ) you have an almost blank slate to work with when it comes to creating new designs. Count the7
Im sure some where it said that the MK V armour Helmet was an off shoot from the TDA trials, FWs Charodon Red Wake Mini has been the base for some nice PH conversions i have seen latley Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268325-legion-terminator-squads/#findComment-3268366 Share on other sites

Daemon2027
Ok thanks for your help guys. I'm thinking of either setting my AL at the end of the great crusade, or shortly after Istvaan V. Majority of my troops will have mark IV but with some, modfied mark III, and maybe some mark V thrown in to the show the Legions adhoc style. So the Tartaros should mesh with that. I may try modelling some Cataphractii style pads though, they look cooler IMO.
