Squark
So, I've purchased the codex, 2 boxes of Strike Knights, and Inquisitor Coteaz (On the grounds that I want to keep the HQ cheap, an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor fits well with the fluff of my Space Wolves, and another Ordo Malleus Inquisitor would require converting a Space Marine Chaplain and giving him a Daemonhammer and Psycannon from the Terminators box, which is a) more expensive, and :) using a psycannon and Daemonhammer those Terminators would really prefer to use themselves). That being said, I'm still not sure how exactly to assemble the Strike Knights. Specifically, I'm torn over whether the Justicar should use a Daemonhammer or a Glaive (I really hate GW's inability to google polearm types while writing codexes  ), and if I should stick an additional Daemonhammer or two in the unit on regular Strike Knights. Your advice here? Some information on the armies these guys will be supporting- My Space Wolves* are a foot army (apart from 1 drop pod) representing part of Logan Grimnar's Great Company during the 13th Black Crusade, so I see this as sort of a reunion of the forces who fought together during the First war for Armageddon (Although I doubt any of the models actually represented in the army were actually there). *And yes, I am aware I'm going to have to keep any Grey Knights models away from the Rune Priest lest I cancel my own psychic powers. Zeratul29
Just btw, ALL the knights at the first war for Armageddon were in terminator armour. and since you're a foot slogging army, I would include terminators if you don't already... if your going for fluff purposes, terms are also good gamewise as well. And yes, my friends and I have debated how the gk halberds aren't really halberds... come on GW, you're better than that! Ha, I kid myself, no you're not. Squark
Yeah, I know- But like I said, this is just a reunion during the 13th Black Crusade. I'm certainly considering some termies for my next purchase (It's them or a Stormraven)- It'll be nice to have some terminators with higher quality melee weapons- Would you say 2 Daemonhammers, 3 Glaives is a decent melee weapon loadout (I'm going to have to steal a thunderhammer from a codex marine player, of course), or should I go 3 Daemonhammers for more Ap 2? Jacinda
(I really hate GW's inability to google polearm types while writing codexes  ) "Sarissa These vicious, spiked combat attachments are used by Adepta Sororitas to add a lethal close combat utility to their standard issue bolter." I know sarissa is not nearly so common as a glaive but a sarissa was a very long spear used in ancient Greek phalanx combat. So the old Sisters of Battle used bayonets that were 6 meters long (about 20 feet) . Squark
By the way, painting wise, what's a good way to do Nemesis Force Weapons? And has the new codex changed the rules for heraldry any from the old guide here? Zeratul29
What i do is this, take about 10 minutes and looks decent, I do a lightning pattern, its very simple: Basecoat mordian paint a layer of regal Now for the lightning pattern: do spots along the blade in enchanted blue on how you want the pattern to follow. I do a diagonal pattern. the do the actual lightning pattern in ice blue go over the lightning patten in pure white, making sure its smaller than the ice blue part. then lightly drybrush the whole sword with ice blue viola! nice looking and easy force weapons!
