FW Legion Unique Units

So far in Betrayal we have seen 4 Legion Unique units revealed, the Deathshroud and Justaerin who are basically special terminators and the Palatine Blades and Rampagers who are basically special assault squads. What do you think we're going to be getting from the other 14 Legions? I personally think special terminators and assault squads are going to be the most common but what about the exceptions, what Legions will have unique units which are different?

So to start out

White Scars: Something bike related

Iron Warriors: Artillery or Heavy Weapon Squad

Space Wolves: Wulfen/Wolf Cavalry

Imperial Fists: Breacher Siege Squads.

Thousand Sons: Psykers

any more ideas?

Space Wolves - no wolf cavalry... some Wulfen and some version of Jorin Bloodfang (Lord of the 13th Company) or Bjorn pre-dread :HQ:

I think for the Thousand Sons rather than them simply having a penchant for Psykers, they should be able to have Psykers lead their units instead of Sgts and more OT with Elite units - they should have a Cabal made up of Mastery Lvl 3 Psykers, all with a specific discipline - e.g. a 10 man unit (at max) starting off at 3 man but 5 different disciplines, I can't remember the actual names for them but if you read through the HH Series and especially A Thousand Sons and Prospero Burns to a lesser extent, you'll be able to find the names of the different cabals and their specialities - I know they have would realistically be able to use ALL of the current 40k Disciplines and have a cabal dedicated to each; Pyromancy being the most warlike and front-line warriors, Divination and Telikenisis and Divination was more strategy and back-line stuff, Biomancy was used more to enhance the warriors around them compared to it being used on themselves and Telepathy was used instead of them having to shout across the battlefield and also communicate with those outside vox range.

Raven Guard Raptors

I'm not sure. I'm more than willing to bet that Forgeworld will try to push the Raptor Legion Night Lords, and it would be weird if two Legions on both sides of the war had access to units with the same name. It will probably be another form of jump pack stealth Troop. But sincerely, I hope the Raven Guard get the Raptors.

Oh I really hope so. I will buy 2 books if they will do it! But...

1st company captain Zso Sahaal appeared after the Heresy, so Night Lords may have some Raptors as Elite, but may not.

And Raptors as possessed Raven Guards appeared after Istvaan V, while second book will be Istvaan V, so no possessed Raven Guards this time.

Not entirely true. He became First Captain after the Heresy. As one of the original Terrans, he was always there and for ed the Night Lords Raptors pre-Heresy and trained the original Jump Pack Troops in the other Legions. So they will exist without a doubt, but they are a specific company within the First Company, just as the Atrementar are only the Terminator elite within the First Company. However, my fear is that just because the Raptors existed, the mistaken belief that arose in the 3rd Edition both because of the Night Lords having the option for a fourth FA slot and no unit restriction on Raptors and because of this book.

Now, I know and acknowledge that the Raptors and Night Lords are of like mind and cooperation between the two groups is more common than between other factions. But there's a difference between a Raptor Legion and a Raptor Army.

On the Raven Guard, the Raptors aren't possessed though. They were a post-Istvaan V company that was formed to house the new recruits, some of which were inducted using gene-seed tainted by a warp-virus. It's still warp taint, but not on the scale of possession. Just a small difference.

Although, the fact that the RG Raptors are post-Istvaan V does mean they are not likely to exist. However, since 1/3 of the RG are the Raptors post-Istvaan, to me the smart move would be to either keep the mutant Raptors for post-Istvaan V. Wait, which book are the Raven Guard supposed to make an appearance?

I believe the RG are to appear in the second Istvaan v book, guessing as they were still actively fighting after the big battle and started to develop the guerrilla warfare style we know now them for. I think during the main battle for Istvaan V the RG committed to a mass jump pack assault, although I doubt their entire force were equipped with jump packs.

After Istvaan V the RGs veterans (I.E the survivors of Istvaan V), became known as the Talons, not sure if they were called this before Istvaan V or not.

" Including Branne’s companies, he had a little fewer than four thousand legionaries of varying ranks and specialisations. The majority he had formed into the ‘Talons’ – tactical companies under Agapito’s command. The survivors of the various assault platoons, along with several Dreadnought-incarcerated veterans, had been banded together into the ‘Falcons’, led by Aloni Tev. Lastly, the handful of bike squads, land speeders and aircraft crews still remaining were put together under the command of Captain Solaro An, and were given the designation ‘Hawks'. "
