r0xAs
hello all i've been fancying making some custodes to work with my space marines. so far im at planning stage im using some inherited 5metal Grey knight models without weapons, and 5plastic ones. im looking at this images as references as im not a big fan of the tall helmets they are most seen with. http://images.wikia.com/warhammer40k/images/0/02/Art_custodes_marines.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b355/LostInTheWarp/Friends/Dave%20Taylor/CustodesTacticalSquad1.jpg removing the stormbolters on the plastic ones is easy, but the metals ones are pain, so should i leave them with the wrist mount weapons?, also im planning all with spears, so i dont know if they should look interesting with the spear plus a wrist mount weapon. input of bitz or any other fancy ideas would be great too. if anyone is willing to help i'd be grateful Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268519-adeptus-custodes-grey-knights-count-as/ Share on other sites
awfulawful
Really it is your army, so it's your call how you want to model everything. Sticking straight to the fluff, the bolter should be part of the Custode's spear, not wrist mounted. I use the plastic GK halberds, cut the blade off, add the bolter, and then reattach the blade to the bolter. I have used arms from regular marine sprues. Enzephalon
The problem I have with most custodes conversions is that they only look like golden marines in the end. If you like it that way, that's fine of course. But I would at least stick with the artwork/fluff and attach the bolter to the halberd. Mine are heavily kitbashed, using a lot of bits from the Sanguinary Guard box, Ravenwing bits, obviously GK halberds with integrated bolters, and WHF High Elf chariot rider helmets. It's pricey to score all those bits on ebay, so I appreciate the low model counts lists that the CK Codex offers. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268519-adeptus-custodes-grey-knights-count-as/#findComment-3271189 Share on other sites

Gentlemanloser
Thing is, r0xAs is going by the picture in his OP. Does anyone know where that's from, and if it's an acurate alternate dipiction of the custodes? As it difers from the usual.
