Brother Drozd
Hail Brothers, I'm taking my wolf company to face the heretics of Magnus at 8000 pts. limit. No allies, no fortifications, just Sons of Russ vs scum of Magnus. I've read the rule book regarding army composition. Over 2000 pts. I can take a full second detachment from SW book. For my first company I'll be taking Logan and Canis as HQ. Hence making Wolf Guard and Fenrisian Wolves as Troops. For my Second company, I will roll Ragnar and 6 packs of Grey Hunters. Now here is the question: If I take Wolf Guard unit in Second company with Ragnar, will they count as Troops or Elites? Logically I'd count them as Elite, since second company is an army in it's own right, and Logan's rule should not cascade there. On the other hand, units from first company do benefit from special abilities of characters in second company (I think), so Logan *would* also make WG Troops. Please help me solve this question brothers! For Russ and the Alfather! dswanick
If I take Wolf Guard unit in Second company with Ragnar, will they count as Troops or Elites? It's still "your army" right? Logically I'd count them as Elite, since second company is an army in it's own right, No they are the second Primary detachment in "your army". Using Logan and Canis means that Wolf Guard and Fen.Wolves are Troops. Russ Brother 92
I know it's pretty much 4000pts for each BUT I feel you're heavily limiting yourself by having Canis and Logan in the same army - I'd suggest taking Logan with Njal and perhaps Bjorn (fluffy and beastly) and then have Canis with Rags as then you've got the space to have GHs and Wolves without diminishing the strength of Logan and his Wolf Guard :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268585-8000-pts-game-question/#findComment-3271431 Share on other sites
Brother Drozd
Both companies act as one huge army really, hence I don't think it matters much how I move HQs around. In the end it all come down to 4(8) HQs, 6 Elites, 12 Troops, 6 Fast Attack and 6 Heavy Support choices. And there are no FOC restrictions in an Apocalypse game... Brother Drozd
It's more of a mutual agreement really. Same goes for not taking allies for example and just sticking to a grudge match Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/268585-8000-pts-game-question/#findComment-3271490 Share on other sites
