2013 Librarium Painting Challenge

I'm not sure if everyone has seen this yet, so I thought I'd bring it up. Same as last year, Vow anything board appropriate from one Mini to an entire army and paint them. Must have at least two WIP reports to be valid. Full details are here.

Anybody in? I might have a really good chance this year as I have an operation in two or so weeks that will have me out of work for at least three to six weeks I haven't decided what the vow I'm giving is yet, but I'll have an idea soon

Edit: I've noticed that Brother Cambrius has already put his name down in favour of the Liber! Let's show the other Sub Forums that what we're made of!

To clarify what counts as a valid vow, I've reposted the following:

ANY unit can be vowed from ANY legal Codex, as long as it is board appropriate on behalf of the Liber For example:

Any of us can opt to paint UltraMarines, as long as the unit(s) in question are in the latest Codex.

Any of us can opt to paint Sisters of Battle as long as the unit(s) in question are in the latest Codex.

This thread is somewhere we can support and encourage each other during the challenge. Let's do the Liber Proud!

I've let down the Liber twice last year, so going to try out several small vows instead of one big one! Be easier to manage if another ongoing series of hospital visits for both family and personal health hits, on top of Uni work.

 

Also, Olis, with their new Codex and unit coming out in a couple weeks, DA might just have the advantage with this Challenge unfortunately!

That could be a problem. However, we do have a little wiggle room - iirc the rules only state that you declare for a subforum. It doesn't say you have to stick to that subforum's models, just that they have to be B&C legal.

 

Please note that only board appropriate minis may be entered. This means no xenos or non-PA models. If you're unsure on whether or not your models come under this clause, feel free to drop me a PM to clarify or post here. Please note that Epic, BFG, Inquisitor and Space Hulk minis are all welcome, as long as they qualify as board appropriate. It does not matter what stage of completion the mini is in, as long as it is less than approximately 50% complete. Basecoat to unassembled to one Inquisitor's leg painted, all are welcome.

 

So, technically you could do a Battle Brother Artemis from the =][= range in BA colours, but as long as you've vowed in the name of Liber, it counts as a point for us. :D

Having had clarification from Sigismund Himself, I can officially state the following:

Thus far I have counted 7 Members of the Liber Vowing thus far, not counting Silver Phoenix and myself! As far as I can tell, we have the highest Vow count so far! Let's keep it up!

 

Messor, Olis, I think that once the time comes that we use this thread to keep morale and to encourage each other to get the vows completed. I'll adjust the OP when the time comes ^_^

 

My Vow will be posted on Sunday when I work out what I can realistically paint in the time given. After all, I have a Limited edition Dark Vengeance Box Set (minus a few minis that have already been painted...), 40 or so RTB01 Marines (that need stripping) and quite a few Metal Minis. If I feel suicidal enough If I feel confident enough, I might Vow big (as in around 2k+ big, I'll be off for three or so weeks after my knee operation, so I will have bugger all to do short of getting my short stories written) ;) I may finally get enough minis painted to get

 

My Rainbow Warriors to around 1-1.5k

My Angels of Salvation to around 800-1k

My Bahltimyr Reavers to around 800-1k

 

Hmm... I may have to decide which army I really want to get completed.

 

In any case, might I start the Mantra?

The main thing is completed vows, I think. Yes, we may get less vows in total but if we can complete them all then we stand a very good chance. If any Liberite feels doubtful about entering - pledge one model. Yes, one. It still counts.
