Pig Of Sparta
Hi Everyone, hopefully you're all recovering from Christmas well and Santa you brought plenty of hobby goodness ;). Thought I'd get some images of another competition entry that I just completed up: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8357/8318270118_9101480128_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8216/8318269796_98cd542957_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8493/8317214335_3ccf1e4105_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8494/8317214073_e098643fd4_z.jpg Although looking at the photos I could have done a slightly better job on the base (this was the first time I've used cork for basing and I thought the 'seams' looked alright until I'd added paint...) I'm pretty happy with how he's come out. @ lestat: thanks again for the base, hopefully this is impressive enough for it ^_^ thanks pig of sparta
Dosjetka
I think the rusted metal parts could have done with a bit more metal chipping, but otherwise, you've done quite a good job :P Hopefully he'll place well in the competition ;) Cheers, Ludovic
Firepower
I agree that the rust is a bit too all encompassing. Just a bit of fraying on the other edges might help. But you gave the relatively unspoiled armor a very nice texturing effect, so it looks gritty and dirty in its own subtler way. And of course, far better than I can do :D Good work, and good luck. Son of Carnelian
The rust definitely could use another pass. But otherwise, the model looks great! Don't sweat the base, I can't see anything wrong.
Brother Kovash
The model looks great, all the colors blend together well, especially considering you have rusted armor and rotting flesh overlapping each other. The base fits the model perfectly, and isn't done over the top as to detract from your lord. Best of luck in your competition!
Lestat
Now that is one impressive mound of decaying flesh! I love how you have taken a Warhammer model and turned him/it into what is undoubtedly a corrupted Death Guard Marine well on his way to daemonhood. The base looks great - you can't really see any joins between the cork. The sickly mass looking like it's been vomited up from the bowels of the earth is great - it's brilliant bile-like colour too. All in all - a superb piece. If it doesn't win, then it is a superb display piece.
pingo
I like your colours on this model. Quite unusual in hue. Good work!
