Brother Sgt. Steine
Completed this project this afternoon. What a great scuplt! I tried to keep my conversions limited, but needs to make sure I left no trace Crimson Fist on this model! This was also my first time working with Finecast. Anyway, it was fun seeing this little dio come together. Happy New Year Brothers! COURAGE AND HONOR in 2013! http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-70278_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-8297_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-59691_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-38784_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-59608_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-75217_thumb.jpg http://www.reapermini.com/forum/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-43-41227_thumb.jpg
Mercadius
Looks good, it's a great mini to paint. Maybe an idea for next time and my only honest suggestion is to counter-sink that dio base so he fits snug into what is a nice little display you have there, but it still looks cool and that's totally a personal taste thing. Good work and happy new year :eek
pingo
Very nice; I like your painting style.
chaptermasters
Really like the Banner. I think you could do with lowering the brightness and increasing the contrast on the photos. It looks like your flash has burnt them out a bit. Here's one I've tried it on. http://s398928513.websitehome.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/post-43-21801_thumb.jpg
Brother Sgt. Steine
Thanks guys! @Mercadius- I thought about that too. I almost attached the model to the base, but cutting a round hole in the larger base crossed my mind too. I have two more of these, perhaps on the next one... @Pingo- Ditto man. @CM- I appreciate that, my camera is an old 1999 Sony, it's tired. FTR, I don't use a flash for any of my photos. I'll see if I can adjust and re-post the images. This wash out has been an issue with a lot of my UM models (see my Ultra collection in Hall of Fame). Okay, just reposted the images, is that a bit better? Thanks again Brothers. BSS

Disruptor_fe404
Excellently done. One question: what did you do to blank the scrolls on the banner? Did you use GS to fill in the gaps, or did you file them down?
Brother Sgt. Steine
Thanks again Brothers... @Ludovic- Calgor and his Honor Guard are next on my list! @Disruptor- Aye, brother good question. I borrowed my friend's dremmel tool and carefully removed them so that the suface was smooth. Then I added a resin Ultra symbol and brass symbol. Freehanded the "Ultra- Marine on the banner scrolls. Hope that helps... THERE IS ONLY THE EMPEROR! BSS
Disruptor_fe404
Thank you very much, will be sure to employ a similar method when I do mine. Well, without the dremel, just good ol' fashioned elbow grease and a file.
Puhnupetteri
Good job! I think guilliman would approve Looks quite unique painting technique.
Son of Carnelian
I like what you've done with the model. The blue is a bit too bright for my taste but I suspect that's just the photo. Good work regardless!
Uhtred Uhtredson
Steine is a painting guru- I've seen his stuff up close and personal. Never fails to impress, though my jaw is starting to smart from all the drops...
