So I've been throwing around ideas for my own chapter for a while now, and although I've had a color scheme down for a while, it's all the little details I've been nitpicky about. However, the last few days I've been in a mood and said no more to the delay and got some painting done. My long term goal is to have a full company of models (I'd like to say chapter but we'll see how that goes down the road). I've also got some chaos models I'm working on that are going to be a renegade company of to OF's.

I guess I'll put some of my ideas for the chapter itself down.

Obviously Imperial Fists successors. I was going to go with Salamanders because I wanted my chapter to have the same point of view with the average Imperial citizen as them but...I am and always have been a Son of Dorn and can't seem to break away from it.

Anywho, the progress I'm willing to show right now is a Librarian and a few Terminators. Keep in mind the Librarian needs highlights and the Terminators need some more areas painted and highlights but their basic color scheme is down.

I'm not really a fan of using the typical models for my Independent Characters so I was pretty bored and decided to convert up a Librarian. Everything was looking pretty decent until i realized I needed a psychic hood. I planned on using a grey knights piece, but happened to use them all already. HOWEVER, I was doing this at a friends house and he happened to have recently gotten ahold of some new necrons and he recommended I use one of their parts as a make shift hood. I believe it was from a Deathmark? not exactly sure as I don't know that much about the new necron units. But I believe it turned out quite well. Alright enough text and here's a few pictures. Let me know what you think, there will be more to come (some tacticals and scouts) hopefully soon.

Not bad so far, brother, although the details will certainly need attention before they can look finished. :lol:

 

Anyway, onto the chapter itself. I think, if you wish to progress the back story further then you'll need to begin with some basic details:

 

• Fleet based or homeworld based? First of all, one of the most basic decisions - will your chapter be tied to a particular planet or will they roam the galaxy like the Black Templars or the Marines Errant do?
  
• Another good starter is to decide what founding they are from as this influences who they are almost as much as where their gene-seed comes from. Anything from the third or fourth onwards is good although if you pick the Cursed Founding (21st) or the Dark Founding (13th) you had best be aware of the pitfalls and the fluff regarding those foundings in general (that would mean more than just reading a wiki, mind you).
  
• Do you have any particular theme in mind for your chapter? Will they have any historical influences at all? Will they take their cues from their elder or kin chapters?
