Just gunna bump this over to the Liber Astartes section... *clicks fingers*

Ok sorry and thanks

No problem. At least it's now in a place where it can receive the correct treatment.

Let's start with an easy question - what sort of gene-seed do you want your chapter to use? What sort of lineage do you want?

Hard, Tuff so basically able to take hits and then deal a fatal blow with their power fists or point blank plasmas

In that case brother, I would suggest the Imperial Fists. Enduring, stubborn individuals they be, able to take a licking and keep on ticking. Any back story or history on these guys? :) And a bit late since you joined now last year, but welcome to the B+C Corbulox!

Their Homeworld was destroyed by a warp storm so they adopted one of its moons ( hence being strong because they have to survive near a warp storm)

@Wulfebane Well thats a bummer guess ill have to think of a new name. Still want to keep Thunder because of their colour scheme any ideas?

If a warp storm destroyed their homeworld wouldn't the moon also have been destroyed? :tu:

It could be rogue now, pushed out of orbit by the storm or destruction of the world, now wandering the galaxy unpredictably. It would certainly be frigid and inhospitable.

A pretty alternative thought, I'd say. Maybe not completely original but certainly different enough. Lightless. Benighted. Hostile. I like it. Shame this isn't my IA though. ^_^

It would pose it's own problems, though. How would the local populace (if there is one) survive? How would any marines leaving the planet know where to find it again in the endless depths of deep space? For that matter, how would such a world keep supplied? These'll have to be overcome if the idea is going to come to fruition but, like I said, it's not my IA. Corbulox makes the call on this one.

Those are good points um finding it again a beacon or something.

getting supplied... they send cargo ships

They survive by being resilient to it due to a mutation by the warpstorm

list of thunder related name that come to mind.

Thunderers

Lightning Lords

Thunder Strikes

Lightning Strikers

Lords of Thunder

Sons of Zeus

Sons of Thor

Thunder Guards

Thunder Angels

The list could go on, and on. I like the color scheme but it treads close to the Scythes of the Emperor .

They could also live under the surface of their rogue moon. Perhaps the moon was once a mining base and if full of tunnels, the entire fortress-moon thing could be supported by airlocks and fusion reactors. Any requirements for food and water could be synthesised, as well as taking deliveries.

As for finding their way back, Perhaps it moves very slowly, slowly enough that even in the 41st millennium they can track it's path through space accurately.

I'm liking the idea of the moon travelling its own wayward path Space 1999 style. In terms of resources, I think Brazen Crusader's idea of it being a former mining colony, thus providing tunnel systems and the potential for a subterranean fortress monastery on the moon. The general basic resources such as water and food etc can easily be transported in via cargo ships etc.

On the note of how the chapter finds the moon, perhaps they do indeed have a psychic beacon of some description, akin to the Astronomican, but on a much, much smaller level, just enough so that the Chapter's psykers can find the planet? It would probably attract Tyranids though so that could be something to play on. The concept of the wayward moon would also provide an interesting way of the chapter's character being shaped as the recruit from passing worlds, thus each new generation of recruits that go up the ranks of the chapter could provide a new take on beliefs and methodology of warfare.

That's my thoughts and ramblings on the ideas Corbulox has, and of course, what he decides goes as it is his Chapter. :P

Yeah they all sound good and also if it was a mining station they would be strong so this is working out perfectly im going to start working on a story type thing so that'll be done soon hopefully.

Only questions I bring to the pot are what of the rest of space? Just to leave its system after being expelled the moon runs the risk of contact with other astral bodies, and with them not going anywhere... Have such threats arisen? Have they lost facilities or suffered losses from asteroid collisions? Are they destined to eventually strike another moon or planet, or pass a little too close to a sun? I understand it moves slowly, but I won't lie, I'll be disappointed if it hasn't at least drifted out of its subsector yet. XD That is a very fun idea, though, nice work!

Oh the =I= will just love that, not to mention alot of other chapters ... including mine.

It's pretty much grounds for leading the entire chapter out the back and shooting them. Best to think of a better explanation Corbulox. :)

Yeah I meant to mention this when I submitted my ideas for chapter names. The whole I'm a mutant, but I work close to the Inquisition thing , just doesn't work. ;) Plus if you claim your a Son of Dorn then your older cousins the Black Templar's might come down and give you some killer nuggies, if you know what I mean.
