Just cant get enough of terminators

Hello Brothers of the Fang,

 

So After a long (20year) Hiatus I have picked up tabletop gaming again! Its mostly the modeling and painting side which I enjoy and am yet to even play a game of 40k. Even so I with to spend my time slowly building and painting up a unique battleforce which one day I may actually get around to sticking down on a table for battle.

 

I'm looking to build an army mostly focused around the models I love as that's where the enjoyment is for me. Its the terminators which steal my heart as they look fantastic and when coupled with the fact wolf guards all feel like individual champions its with these models which I want to build the core of my army. A logan wing force has been something which seems to be the obvious route for me here but as I am one to never stick to copy and paste lists (plus I dont play just to win) I thought I would try and compile my own.

 

The concept I am going with as a tactic would be to drop pod in rockfist +4 combat geared terminators along with a another drop pod with 5 shooty terminators and an empty drop pod just to block the flow of traffic into the enemy first time. I also love the idea of wolf scout snipers so maybe these guys can infiltrate in a 10man squad into the middle to give added ranged support to the terminators. Now in my mind how I see this working is Rockfist would act as a tar pit backed up by the second terminator squad to make elements a little more aggressive. These in tern will provide a line of defensive for the snipers to go to work taking out any suitable targets.

 

The rest of my army will be footslogging pack of grey hunters a rune priest (possibly at the front in the second termie squad) and longfangs for support. Points allowing land speeders would be a nice addition to a army which is slow to react.

 

As I say this is just a concept for a list its built more around the units I like and will enjoy painting rather than any specific knowledge of the game. If you have any thoughts please let me know I am always happy to get a little feedback. Accurate point list coming soon.
