Perpetual Dawn
So my local gaming group are getting into kill team more after the fun at a recent tourney. This got me thinking that it would be an excellent opportunity to experiment with a pre-heresy forgeworld colour scheme and models, but not be building up another army in parallel to the one I am in the middle of. Grey hunters seem ideally suited to kill team so I was thinking of a list something like: 5 grey hunters, plasma gun, wulfen 1 TDA lone wolf, power axe 1 TWC I haven't seen kill teams mentioned much with a context to 6th edition - GW UK have released a PDF for 2013 that seems to change the rules slightly. What are peoples thoughts on kill teams in general?? For fluff I was thinking along the lines of a crack team that excelled in eliminating the toughest of targets that needed the preheresy wolf executioner style as described in the books (am only upto halfway in Fulgrim from the HH series). I like the lone wolf concept as he is the berserker type to the hunters mix of stealth and expert weapon ability that the specialists would offer. The TWC just seemed like a good thought to be the one that delivers the final execution when the target thinks he has evaded the pack.. Sorry for the rambling on.. Quite excited for having a reason to buy some of the excellent forgeworld models I keep eyeing up.. Russ Brother 92
I thought Kill Team meant that all models are individuals and treated as such - so you can have 1 Grey Hunter or 1 Wolf Guard etc. except no Unique/Special Characters, HQs and Vehicles/Walkers - so your Grey Hunters would be indiviuals able to take a Plasma Pistol, Power Weapon/Fist and/or Special Weapon... Is this incorrect? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269230-sw-kill-team-in-6th/#findComment-3279435 Share on other sites

Is this incorrect? It is, unfortunately, because you choose your forces as a unit, with all the options and limitations available to them as a unit, then each member acts individually once the game starts. So, you can have a hunter with a Plasma Pistol, but only the one allowed in the unit entry. Still, as with other things, Grey Hunters are probably one of the better units to get a custom force for Kill Team. hendrik
fluffwise we didn't have thunderwolf cavalry until late into the 40th millenium and even then they are a rare sight to behold, not more then a rumour according to some. here's some artwork i collected over the years featuring, mostly heresy ere space wolves, it might give you some conversion ideas http://s210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/a...mview=slideshow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269230-sw-kill-team-in-6th/#findComment-3279583 Share on other sites
Perpetual Dawn
I thought that might be the case with thunderwolves. Maybe a landspeeder would be more appropriate or more grey hunters. Thanks for the picture link, it would be interesting to see if I can get that dark grey metallic look that is in some of them..
