Corbulox
Any tips on using green stuff and other stuff like that on my sternguard. Also does blue tack work a green stuff? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269390-sternguard-help/ Share on other sites
Olis
I'll leave the sternguard thing to others more skilled than I but I'd like address the question on Blu-Tack: It is not a good substitute for greenstuff. Greenstuff is a two part epoxy resin that hardens (or cures) at room temperature whereas Blu-Tack is an adhesive which does not cure, so it stays malleable pretty much until it is broken down into it's constituent parts. I would not recommend using Blu-Tack for anything other than test-fitting parts. War Angel
Liquid green stuff is not really a substitute for green stuff IMO. It's more for smaller gaps that need to be filled. You can't do the same things with LGS that you can do with the putty version. I'm going to assume that you're primary question is asking how you can use green stuff to make a regular tactical squad more unique, and thus give them a stern guard feel. I personally have been doing this in my current WIP, along with having modified my chapter master using green stuff. I encourage you to look at my WIP for inspiration, but Incase that's not you're style here's a few suggestions. Add studs to leggings, chest, shoulders. File down the chest piece with the skull then use green stuff to replace it with you're chapter badge, or other imagery Add a ridge to the top/bottom/both of sections of armor. Add skulls, or eagles to leggings, knee caps, shoulder pads. This could also work with squad markings, or chapter imagery (crosses for black Templar, blood drops for blood angles) Add purity seals. Modify the crotch piece to look more boxy (very common with older marks) After cutting apart joints to reposition the legs or arms you can fill in gaps. Alter the look of the knee pads (I've done this a few times) Bulk up the legs or arms. Add pelts of various kinds I hope this list helps, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Olis
There's an old adage - "The only stupid question is the one left unasked." Don't be afraid to ask what might seem silly or stupid, if it is a genuine question you're asking. It is better to know than not know, especially in the long run.
