L30n1d4s
With the new DA Codex out, I am looking at the Dark Talon Fighter and its Stasis Bomb as a possible allied unit. Combine that Stasis Bomb, which should drop most enemy units to Initiative 1, with Warp Rift and I think you have a pretty potent "1, 2 combo" .... even MC and tough ICs could be very vulnerable to this. Obviously, the Stasis Bomb has to hit, the Librarian has to get within Template range, has to pass Pyschic Test, and the enemy has to fail his Deny the Witch, so there is a few obstacles to this occuring. Still, with no saves of any kind, this could be a great way to deal with really tough units (I am looking at you, TH/SS Terminators) in a single strike. Thoughts? Reclusiarch Darius
Takes too many things going your way, in a single turn. I take 'Warp Rift' on my Librarian a lot, but it almost never gets used, simply because I'm never in range. Template = melee range, and you'll inevitably do more damage in melee (as he is never alone). DA don't make the best Allies anyway, so it's a bit of a waste of your Ally option to take it. Unlike the Storm Raven, the Dark Talon isn't bringing much else to the army, and it doesn't compare favourably to the Vendetta either. That said, if you manage to pull it off, it is pretty amusing. I'm predicting we'll see Wolves break out the Dark Talon as an Ally, to pair with their longer range 'JOTWW' power. On the subject of Stormhammers, you can avoid them by simply moving. They are slow (if they are in a Raider, break it open with a Vindicare or some melta), and if you force armour saves they still die the same as any other Terminator unit (ie 6 wounds average per kill). They are annoying, and they will eat your battleline if ignored, but their slowness is their hobble. jeffersonian000
Warp Rift gets used quite a bit by my Libby, as he is attached to Mordrak and his Ghosts for 1st turn "Rifting" of things I just need to die on turn 1. I'll need to check out the new DA codex to see how this Stasis Bomb works.
