Not the silence as in the absence of sound, for the sound of dripping water, the groaning of metal shifting and slow humming of engines running was ever present. In the darkness a shape stirred, the shape of a man. But no normal man, for it was far to large to be human. His body was riddled with scars and bruises, yet he felt none of the pain a mortal human would. For his post human form was created by the emperor, and war was it's purpose. Now though he laid chained to the cold metal floor of his cell, far from any battle or war zone. He was not sure how many hours he had laid there, time seemed to drift away in this place.No this was the silence of someone waiting to die. Sudden light breached the darkness, and a calm, mellow voice spoke: " Sergeant Aben Saroddon?" "Who wants to know?" He responded weakly, glancing up at the man that had just entered his dark cell . The newcomer stood tall, his slender middle-aged face gazing upon the naked Astartes with a look that almost could be mistaken for pity. Light reflected of his beautifully crafted silver armour. A golden, stylized capital "I" embedded with a skull sat at the center of his chest. A likewise master-crafted powersword hung at his hip. Making this yet another of these so called holy inquisitors. "Get him up and bring him to interrogation room 436". The inquisitor gestured to two massive servitors accompanying him. As the servitors unlatched the chains binding him and ushered him into a great hallway, the astartes offered no resistance. He lumbered after the inquisitor like some great heard animal, staring with blank almost lifeless eyes into the metal floor. "In here prisoner 852-04-16" one of the hulking servitors said in a monotonous,dead voice and shoved him into an interrogation room. The room was slightly smaller than the crew compartment of a thunderhawk gunship, furnished two stone benches and a small light unit illuminating them both. The inquisitor seated himself on one of the benches. And Aben was forced down on the other, as the servitors locked his chains in place. Safeguarding the inquisitor from the astartes. Unneccesary as it was, for even a child could see that there was no will left in him. "Welcome Aben".He spoke softly, shifting slightly where he sat. Aben lifted his gaze, eyes narrowing as he focusing on this new stranger before him. "Who are you? You are not like the others..." He replied in a low rumble, baring his teeth like some feral beast. "I'm Inquisitor Theodore Valles of the ordo malleus" the inquisitor replied, lifting his chin slightly. " And no, unlike the others. I am not here to force any confession out of you Aben..I am here to learn the truth....I am here to listen" he continued, presenting his hands in a gesture of openness "You held the position of sergeant in the sons of horus fourth company?" The astartes sat there for a long time, head quietly bobbing slightly as if rocked by gentle waves. When he replied, his voice was naught but a whisper "The truth...huh" The silence was pregnant with the anticipation of words to come. And Inquisitor Valles leaned closer to the broken god of war as he spoke. "Very well then...Inquisitor.. I will tell you the truth of events as I saw them. I will tell you how the sixteenth legion cast of the shackles of the false imperium, and became what we were destined to be" A little bit of intro fluff for the project there. So yeah, this will be the painting log for my Sons of Horus army. My first aim will be to finish the most basic stuff, 1 HQ and two troops. Then adding a ten man terminator squad, before finally ending up at 1500 points or so. The army will be based on the legion army-list in the "betrayal" book, but i will also have use the vanilla codex in my local gaming groupe (seeing as I'm the only HH fanboy in it ) The theme I'm trying to go for is a militaristic, less space knigh-ish look. But at the same time capturing the ferocity of the Sons of Horus. I also figured that the army would be just before Istvaan 3 in the HH timeline. Therefore I will go for the darker green shade seen in betrayal. My SoH force will represent the fourth company, seeing my captian Azog Varraddon leading them as Sejanus's sucessor. I've got some of my own sons of horus' to paint and I need some inspiration! TBH I can't really remember exactly how I ended up with this particular shade, I made the mistake of forgetting to write down the specifics. But I think was a mix of USMC tank crewe, orkhide shade, loren forest and a bit of sotek green.
