The Wolfmeister
In the new DA dex dreadnoughts are going back to having "power fists" rather than "dreadnought close combat weapons" does this mean they'll suffer from the unwieldy USR now? Warsmith Aznable
Under the Unweildy entry in the main rulebook: "A model attacking with this weapon does so at Initiative Step 1, unless is is a Monstrous Creature or a Walker." Chaos Marine Dreadnoughts got PF instead of DCCW, so it's probably just the way of the future. The Wolfmeister
Ah, guess I should've cracked open my BRB and checked. Good to know dreads won't be slowed down, that would've been pretty lame. Yea, I freaked out when I read that rule for DA codex, my brother has been using his fists at I:1 for the last few months :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269409-this-may-be-a-silly-question/#findComment-3281408 Share on other sites
the jeske
doesnt matter anyway . they could have changed it to str 1 i1 and you wouldnt run fist armed dreads anyway. jeffersonian000
Pretty sure the only effect is to make them Specialty Weapons, so you'd need two to get an extra attack. Unwieldy doesn't affect walkers, the strength is still doubled, and AP is still 2. tvih
I just feebly hoped they'd think of something to buff dreads with, especially the close combat types. And maybe giving missile launcher a second shot per turn (with an increase in cost, of course). Ah well. I suppose all I can hope for my SM/BT dreads in the future is to wield them as Riflemen, assuming the next BT codex will even allow that. Still quite sad, I really like the AC+HF combo, but they just die in turn 1 every time kitted out like that.
