Drunken Angel
I ordered a Caestus Assault Ram on New Years Eve from forge world, its arrived last friday I assmebled it over the weekend and got the foundation work done. This is the first large resin model I have ever done, I am going for the weathered look. here are a few close ups. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/Weathered/CaestusWeathering_zps166eb57b.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/Weathered/Caestusoverveiw_zps02bec6b0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269509-blood-angels-caestus-assault-ram/ Share on other sites
cptphoenixck
not bad at all! I would suggest rubbing graphite along some of the edges as it gives it the used look. Give IA Masterclass a look over as well. Good luck an'all Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269509-blood-angels-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-3282407 Share on other sites

Azatoth
I agree that it looks fine. I do suggest to add a wash layer or two, to increase contrast. It will make all those edges pop out better. Dosjetka
Aye, a controlled wash of diluted Biel-Tan Green/Argax Earthshade Shade would really do the trick. Good start :tu: Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269509-blood-angels-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-3282568 Share on other sites
Drunken Angel
Thanks for the advice and encouragement guys I am feeling my way on this one I probably should have picked something less ambitious to practise on but I am still enjoying this project hugely and have learnt a lot about the damage/weathered technique, maybe build another Caestus after this or break out my third Storm Raven. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/Weathered/P1140003_zpsa74660f0.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/Weathered/meltastrike2_zps1cfc442f.jpg Washes in progress on the melta hits that did no damage to the ceramite plating the 5++ invun held Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269509-blood-angels-caestus-assault-ram/#findComment-3282660 Share on other sites
