Wolf Guard Loadout as allies

Hi all, I've had my wolves on the back burner for a while now but this new year I'm going for it. I want to come up with a unit of Wolf Guard in TDA to fit with my ultramarines army.

To give you an idea of what I run,

Captain with storm shield/artificer armour and relic blade

Command squad all plasma guns in rhino

2 tac squads one plasma and one melta in rhinos

2 multi-melta attack bikes

Storm talon

5 Thunder hammer termies in land raider

Sternguards 2 combi melta 2 combi plasma sgt lightning claw

Devastators with varying weapon loadouts

this is a rough over view.

For my wolves I was aiming for a rune priest, 10 grey hunters in a pod with 2 melta guns and some wolf guard.

Now I don't want to go mad on points but I want them to be close combat oriented to compliment my hammernators who are my only close combat unit, but I am open to the shooty side of tda.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

10 WG TDA standard for 330pts with storm bolters and power axe or sword. Bargin!

Could add a couple of cyclones if you want some more ranged firepower bringing it to 390, still cheaper than standard loadout termies but you have some striking at initiative and also 4 krak missles that can move and fire. And also keep your full 10 storm bolters.

Storm Shields on WGTDA are always expensive. If you're going to be podding in your Grey Hunters, you could aim for podding in your Priest and TDA.

You could have them all with combi plasmas for a 10 plasma gun volley for 380pts. I don't think anyone would want to play you though, lol. Youa los lose your storm bolters. So for the money I would prefer the cyclones as you keep strom bolters, can shoot every turn and can hide the cyclones at the back so they have all those extra wounds saving your investment.

You can also pod them and mix armour values. Someone has said in these forums you can send them in with multiple pods but Ive not read anything about that in the rules?

Personally though go standard and save points possibly with cyclones depending on what you plan on doing with them.

I thought about podding, however I was thinking of putting the rune priest with my plasma command squad and giving him prescience. Then deploy the command squad near my devs so I get to choose who to buff. I've admittedly only played one game so far doing this but the re-rolls are really helpful especially with gets hot and taking down flyers with the devs becomes viable!!

Don't give ALL of them storm shields, but perhaps it might be worthwhile to give storm shields to 1 or 2 (tops).

Personally, I'd recommend putting them in a raider, with as much combi-plas as possible. Drop pods are ok, and if you go that route, it might be worthwhile giving them a heavy weapon such as a cml and a few combi-meltas.

Storm shields, raider etc are obviously going to make your unit "better" but are going to take a huge amount of points. My opinion is that WG advantages over other TDA is that they are cheap when taken with standard equipment so when you are using allies to bring them in you are better off with GKs or DW than WG if you plan on tooling them up.
The problem with storm bolter wolf guard is that they don't bring much to the table that grey hunters can't do better. Combi-plas wolf guard, on the other hand, pack a huge punch in a single round rapid firing and charging out of a raider. They're not GODLY but I think they're more viable than SB WG.
