New Dark Angels Codex. List of things that are easily missed

I am starting this thread to list the small little changes that are/could be easily missed.

While I was starting build on my DW Command I spent a few extra minutes examining the entry. The Command Squad does not have a Sergeant. However, the Champion and the Apothecary are now Characters.

It was a good thing I spent the few extra minutes reading the entry, I almost built a Sergeant with SB/Power Sword... which isnt an option for the DW Command Squad.

This applies to both of the other Command Squads as well.

The Champion leads the squad, which is a really cool idea.

It also means I have to go back and change around my PA command squad a little.

So, what other little gems have you found?

Well... We did have a Deathwing Command squad, It just didnt have a Champion...

Ravenwing?.. No we didnt,

Of course I give myself a post reading fail the first time around for not noticing that he was talking DW command...

Your lucky! I just finished making my command squad sergeant when I realized that he didn't exist >.< oh well, I guess I have a new DW sarge!

Is the lack of RW command squad sarcasm (serious question)? Because RW had access to a similar command squad that DW had (i.e. an apothecary and banner).

Not sure if these are gems or... what exactly... but worth noting.

All the HQs don't seem to have ATSKNF or Fearless.

Also I totally forgot skilled rider adds +1 to the Jink save, so that's pretty nice on Black Knights and Ravenwing Command Squad.

I normally play vanilla marines, so my comments are based on changes i've seen.

DA Chaplains now have Zealot, which confers Hatred, giving us rerolls in the first round of a combat, regardless of whether we charged or not.

Deathwing Knights have Hammer of Wrath giving an auto hit at base strength at I10 when charging.

I don't like that my apothecary is now a character, as it means he can be challenged or nerfed from combat. . Already is anyway, due to losing his BP.

On the other hand, it also means they can LO,S! wounds on a 4+ (including Precision Shot wounds). And Challenges are actually a good way to keep the Apothecary safe from CC. Take any challenge you don't want to fight with the Apothecary ducking out of combat. He's safe from harm and the unit will still fight as if the enemy character hadn't challenged.

It's not like WHFB. If you refuse a challenge, you're still attacked but you cannot fight back. Good point on the LO,S! roll though, that is pretty nice. And most likely I'm going to have Azrael and Ezekiel in the same squad, so they'll have to get through those two dudes before ever getting my medic in a challenge.

The Deathwing Squad box shows a command squad with sergeant, easy to see how people could make a mistake (like me)whistling.gif

Check out the Inner Circle Rule on page 28

Note that this means that they are fully affected by the Terrify spell, whereas a model with ATSKNF is not.
