nurglespuss
Hi guys, as part of exchanging my birthday cash for gw goodies (over 30s can have fun too!) I picked up the blood angel codex (finally!) And a storm talon (as my mobile anti tank). However, i stupidly didn't realise they aren't available to ba armies. So, time for some codex allies! I've tried to keep my army pretty mobile and assault oriented (chaplains, death company jump pack squads, assault squads, death company dread, tactiqual squad, rhino, dreadnought, drop pod, landspeeder - you get the idea). I want to keep this theme going, but haveny seen the latest marine codex (it was still traits when I last used it). So, in your guys opinion, which are the best 'codex' marines to use with mobile blood angels? Thanks! TheSauce
C:SM have some great gunline units - I'm a big fan of the TFC myself. However, have you thought about converting the Stormtalon into a Stormraven? It's the perfect addition to a fast BA Army. JamesI
For Codex MArines, I would either use them to add tacticals or scouts you already inteded to use or you can go for a captain on bike and biker troops. fivepointedstar
depends on what you have for basic space marine units. because you could make a blood rodeo like Blood, and Dark Angel list since they have something similar to the Storm Talon. just a thought thou. dswanick
If I were in your predicament, I'd probably do something like this: Troops: Space Marine Bike Squad (6#, 275 pts) 1 Space Marine Captain in Power Armour, 135 pts (Bikes (Character); Assault Grenades; Krak Grenades; Iron Halo; Power Armour; Bolt Pistol; Chainsword; And They Shall Know No Fear; Combat Tactics; Independent Character) 1 Space Marine Bike (Twin-Linked Boltgun) 4 Space Marine Bike Squad, 140 pts ((C:SM, pg. 68 & 140); Bikes; Assault Grenades; Krak Grenades; Power Armour; Space Marine Bike; Bolt Pistol x4; Twin-Linked Boltgun; And They Shall Know No Fear; Combat Squads; Combat Tactics) 1 Sergeant (Assault Grenades; Krak Grenades; Power Armour; Space Marine Bike; Bolt Pistol; Twin-Linked Boltgun) Fast Attack: Storm Talon Gunship (1#, 130 pts) 1 Storm Talon Gunship, 130 pts ((White Dwarf); Vehicle (Flyer); Ceramite Plating; Twin-Linked Assault Cannon; Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter; Aerial Assault; Escort Craft; Hover Strike; Supersonic) Some wargear upgrades for flavor, or a Thunderfire Cannon, and done. nurglespuss
Thanks for the great advice guys :) I'm off to grab a copy of codex space marines. I'll paint the 'allies' as a diff company of blood angels or successor.
