"Slow and Purposeful", and Cataphracti ICs

A friend pointed out to me that Slow and Purposeful now bestows both the flaws AND benefits of the rule to any squad joined by an IC with the rule. Accordingly, has anyone yet considered ICs in Cataphracti Terminator Armour joining their Heavy Weapon squads, and granting them what is effectively Relentless? An Ork playing friend of mine pointed out that it is now a viable trick for Orks because of Mega Armoured Nobz, so I see no reason why the Emperor's finest shouldn't do the same!

I'm pretty sure that Slow&Purposeful isn't supposed to work that way...

Can't find a line claiming otherwise, though.

Unless "they" refers to the models with the S&P special rule, rather than the unit they joined.

So yeah, I say it needs to be FAQ'd.

This has been the case for some time with more than one army. They've not fixed it yet, personally I think its a loophole, but faq's seem to point to the games designers not having an issue. Also it doesn't give a huge advantage especially if you deploy as well as you can.

Further I've always thought that man portable weapons are 'man portable' for a reason and should be allowed to move and fire a measly 6" anyway.

It is a change from 5th edition, but you get some serious 6th edition draw backs as well. Can't run, can't fire Overwatch, can't Sweeping Advance.

I think can't Overwatch is the biggest trade off. Nothing like emptying 10 auto cannons into that Contemptor that decides to charge you.
