Vindicare Assassin--Worth It Now?

That being said, a vindicare + ADL + icarus lascannon is a great anti-air weapon if you can justify the point cost of it.

 

I've done that combo to Flyer lists, it is legit. Worth the look on your opponents face when you explain what Interceptor does. 'Full BS...on everything? And a free shot when I come out of Reserve? At BS8?'. :P

 

Look guys, don't get hung on his toughness. He is a single dude. Think of him being Mark Wahlberg. He makes the shot that counts (that unit leader that needs to die this turn, that storm shield that needs to drop off that character, that Land Raider that can't hit your lines intact), but he can't fight off an entire army by himself. Infiltrate him into a good sniping spot, count on 3 shots, make em count.

I'm not a huge fan of the vindicare. Sure he's awesome, but usually its his awesomeness that get makes him a priority target. Unless you bought fortifications too, you're relying on cover to keep him alive. Since he's fearless, he can't go to ground either, so the only bonus to cover you can get is the +1 from his stealth. I've playtested him a few times, but in general I've found him to be underwhelming and not really worth his points. He's in my competitive list and I won't remove him, however;
