Space Wolves (13th Company) 1500pts HELP?

Hey all, a bit new to this forum (Some of ya'll will notice I've done some Black Templar stuff; but my Warhammer ADD has kicked in)

I want the list to be fun, slightly competitive n stickin' to the fluff n this is what I came up with for a 1500 point list:

 

Wold Lord

- Dual Wolf Claws

- Thunderwolf Mount

- 2 Fenrisian Wolves

- Belt of Russ

- Saga of the Warrior Born

- Saga of the Wolfkin

15 Fenrisian Wolves

 

Wolf Priest

- Saga of the Hunter

- Meltabombs

10 Grey Hunters (Slayers)

- Flamer

- Meltagun

- Power Axe

- Mark of the Wulfen

 

Rune Priest

- Runemaster

- Chooser of the Slain

- Living Lightning

- Storm Caller/Tempests Wrath

10 Grey Hunters (Slayers)

- 2 Plasma Guns

- Power Axe

- Mark of the Wulfen

 

10 Wolf Scouts

- 3 Meltabombs

- Meltagun

- Power Weapon (Undecided)

- Mark of the Wulfen

 

6 Long Fangs

- 3 Missile Launchers

- 2 Lascannons

 

Lone Wolf

- Mark of the Wulfen

- Meltabombs

- 2 Fenrisian Wolves

 

STRATEGY (i.e Wishful Thinking): The hope is to get the Wolf Lord into combat, it's what he's born to do. A lot of points sunk into this model to make him survivable n lethal n Close Combat; the Wolves are more of a meatshield than anythin'.

The Runepriest n his Squad will either sit back on an object, or follow the Wolf Lord n give his squad the 5+ Cover n also provide fire support.

The Long Fangs do what they do best. Sit back n shoot at everythin'. Simple enough.

The Wolf Scouts are my tank bustin' unit as well as situated for anti-infantry.

Same with the Wolf Priest n his squad. Thanks the the Saga Hunter rule he n his unit can outflank n will focus more on anti-infantry n assassination.

 

The idea is like a massive pincer (Or wolf jaw if you prefer) 2 units close in from the front while 2 come in from the back. Space wolves are extremely versatile.

I want to stick to the fluff though, so this means an infantry based list. No tanks, no walkers n no Terminators.

 

Any thoughts?

A few notes:

Your wolf lord can only have 1 saga sadly.

I would take 1 PF and 1 WC over 2xWC - gives you a lot more flexabillity

 

Your Lone wolf is going to die pretty quick - normally he is put to best use in a Terminator Armor and with a Storm Shield.

 

Wolf Scouts are not worth it in 6th edition - since they can't charge after outflank. Better to exchange them for more long fangs.

 

I know this goes a bit against the fluff you are looking for - but I would try get red of the scouts, or make the squad smaller, and outfit them with a lot of plasma gun + pistols: which can net you 4 plasma shots.

Double-check the Scout entry- believe you have to upgrade all to get Meltabombs, if you want any. You can't just take 3 for those 10 guys.

I'd suggest you drop Saga of the Warrior Born (he still gets a ton of S5 attacks) - and don't take the Power Weapon on your Scouts, yes you do have to take Melta Bombs for ALL the pack, would be nice if it was individual but ahwell :(

Otherwise a decent list - though I'd take two smaller Scout packs...
