Paint shakers

I doubt a paint shaker is going to help you paint yellow or orange any better … Yellow paint simply does not cover very well, regardless of what paint you use, and this also applies to red, to a lesser extent; as a result, orange is unlikely to cover well either. Paint them over an undercoat that covers better and does not contrast too much with the eventual colour — white or a pale sand colour for yellow, for example.

If you still want to better mix your paints, I suggest inserting a cocktail stick — or even better, some kind of flat stick — into the pot and stirring thoroughly. This mixes the paint's components much better than shaking the pot does.

Painting yellow isn't a very fun experience, but it really comes down to how you do it, and how patient you are in the application of pigments. Like has been said:

drop a bb into your paint pot and shake it up

prime in white

Multiple thin layers

Shades & glazes for depth

Can you all swear the BB idea works great in GW paint pots? Often I buy a pot which is sealed and its dog poo consistency and I have to add water and stir with tooth pick to a better consistency. I do have some BBs which failed for another purpose of modeling and now sit.

I agree on the tooth picks, you should have a ready supply of them.
