nurglespuss
Hi guys, just a quick one, had these old combat squad marines knocking around, thickly painted. So I stripped them, repaired them and repainted them. I used some older painting techniques, and the new red wash from gw, be warned it makes things very dark. Anyway here you go :) http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1625-1-1.jpg Based http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1628-1-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269951-rescued-retro-marines-pic/ Share on other sites

nurglespuss
Cheers! They were really quick to paint (if a Bugger to get the guns to fit), I miss buying boxes of these with my paper round money! Kierdale
Very nice work. I too remember the Strike Force boxed set of 15. Bought it at GW Edinburgh on holiday way back. Got any more golden oldies? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269951-rescued-retro-marines-pic/#findComment-3288837 Share on other sites

nurglespuss
Ah that's where my magic paint stripper comes in: http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1608.jpg Strips metal and plastic with no damage, and really easily. Found out by accident when a plastic arm made it in with metal models. Olis
I have to say that Rhino looks blinding. Literally. I had to squint to look at it. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269951-rescued-retro-marines-pic/#findComment-3289087 Share on other sites
Erasmus of Baal
Those Assault Marines are an excellent re-use of the Sanguinary Guard wings! The DC former Sergeant looks great, too. John Rainbow
Loving you work! The dread is probably my favourite. Did you change the powerfist arm? Nicodemus Doloroso
Very nice rescues! I like how the dark red turned out. I take it you used the Carroburg Crimson wash? Do you do the wash after the basecoat and before the highlights, or after all the highlights have been done? nurglespuss
After the highlights, but you have yo do w red/blsck ink over the top to make it look red again.
