Dark "blasphemous" Wolves

Now before you true blooded wolven start howling in fury at the concept this is a purely power gaming concept.

Ok...

The new Dark Angels flyer has a stasis bomb that reduces enemy units' initiative by 3. Combine that with up to 4 Jaws bombs and what do you have?

I do not believe so, not that there would be anything wrong with such a thing.

I dont know what would you have? I dont know the rules but judginigby peoples reaction, not something nice I pressume?

I think this is a pure rules question- Does it work? Now, granted, I'm going to echo the calls that this should never be done outside of the 'aardest (Pardon my orkish :)) of tournaments, and even then you should expect dirty looks. But does it work (If only so that if it doesn't, we can set the record straight here and now)?

Without too much experience under my belt, games are few and far between, it sounds like it would work in theory. I would say that the test is taken against the modified value. Without seeing the rules for the bomb or a faq for that matter. If, for example, someone were to attempt to hit you after a long night in the pub, would you react the same as stone sober? I would say your reaction would be slowed. That would be my logic.

I am also not current on the rules so take my musings with a grain of salt.

There's a less beardy but synergistic option in the telekenises line too I've seen.

Assail I believe it's called which is an 18" beam with strike down. Strike down is a lesser known status that halves a models initiative if they take a wound (saved or not).

Ergo, 2 rune priests, one assails the other jaws(es).

I think that the big hang up for me is that the entire unit gets the reduction. Strike down is a beam template and Arjac is sniping. Something like the OP is talking about would allow for complete decimation of an entire unit.

I would treat this less of a deathstar and more of a synergy thing. Doesn't sound like it would be cheap either. 4x rune priests and that flyer put it outside of the 2k points range. At least in my opinion. It could be done, but i think it would be too point intensive for me. Too many eggs in one basket.

I would revise my opinion of the tactic to say that while nasty it has a time and a place. I wouldn't use it in a friendly game. And I think that it would be hard to use it in a tourney setup. Apoc games? That is a slightly different story.
