Rider-75
Finally, after much time and fidgeting and procrastination, not to mention avoidance, and family life, the old boy is finished! I really enjoyed assembling and painting this for the most part. The poseablilty and options in the kit are truly fantastic. There were times when I couldn't see the bugger far enough - noteably after I'd finished the blue, going round and recoating everything else in black was relentlessly tedious.... It's been a bit of a learning curve for a few techniques. I've tried a bit more work on adding small chips and scratches using just paint, and I've had a go with weathering powders too. Anyway, enough preamble, on with the show! http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/3CA6619E-4F79-418C-BD16-7BDC480C948E-5222-00000691E3FF341B.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/48084DA6-BFA6-479F-8A91-7407F15323AA-5233-000006931B51D6E8.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/F2CBE78C-42DF-4801-84D2-C7CFE7FBC2EC-5233-00000693220B8B69.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/FD8CA9E1-2C36-4518-BCCB-AB3A587B7CD7-5233-0000069328200B50.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/9BD3B484-4FD0-48B7-BF09-5EF828BE94A0-5233-000006932E6C4B2E.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/E3351304-39E3-4427-82B2-43FC49753EF3-5233-0000069334A2AA82.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/F11D48F6-8454-4CCA-AB0B-2FC6BE497D4F-5233-000006933AD321D2.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/contemptor/DC16A139-748A-483A-BAE0-FD28A6C41001-5233-0000069340AFC0ED.jpg Please feel free to leave your comments :)

.Torch.
Wow, I love your shade of blue, whats your recipe? I keep trying to make my blues look like the shade on the cover art but it never works out for me. EDIT: Just noticed the name plate, awesome! Rider-75
Thanks for the feedback Torch! It's: Base mix of Mordian blue and chaos black Block highlight of mordian blue over everything but recesses Highlight through progressive mix up to edge of Ultramarine Heavy Asurmen blue wash to enrich and even Rehighlight to finish off
.Torch.
Thanks, I'm going to finish off my Dark Angels, then I'm planning to revamp my Ultramarine's from when I was a kid! Great recipe, I'll have to transfer if over to the new paints, but I'm hoping it will work out a lot better than my previous attempts.
nurglespuss
That's right lovely that, and the base really makes it pop!
Rider-75
Thanks NP. @Torch: Rough translation for paints is: Mordian = Macragge Ultramarine = Altdorf Guard Asurmen = Drakenhof Nightshade I've yet to try these as I've still got plenty of them for now... I'm just hoping that as I've rather a lot inbound that they match well or else I'll be rather :(

Dorns Templar
Great looking contemptor, and that base is really good too. What weathering powders did you use?
Rider-75
Thanks guys. They're Tamiya weathering master mud and sand, though there are identical colour powders in the MiG and FW (fresh mud and dark sand iirc)
