Dark Excommunication and its uses

Hi all,

As I am going to be running two Dreadknights at a Tourney and as Hammerhand is now useless is anyone able to help me out with how best to use Dark Excommunication?

Ideally if anyone has a list of units/models affected and what that effect would be that would be great.

Yeah, Dark Excommunication is so cornercase you'll remember the few times you actually use it. That said, removing Gifts can be clutch in certain fights. Although in my experience, the Greater Daemons all stomp the poor DK pretty easily. He's actually better off munching on Daemon infantry or murdering Soul Grinders.

The only time I bother activating force is against EW's or T6+. In all other cases you already ID by default.

I have found dark excommunication useful when my dreadknight was in close combat with a big unit of khorne juggernauts. Suddenly ... they ain't so tough. ;)

But yeah, there are limited situations where you'll find dark ex handy. Mostly you'll be activating your force fists or sword instead.

You need to read the Chaos Daemons codex. Instead of wargear, they have Daemonic Gifts. They grant a variety of things, from guns to blades to invulnerable saves to armour saves to grenade to special rules...

That said, 'Dark Excommunication' is very cornercase. That one time, against that Bloodcrusher horde, it is going to matter, but every other day you aren't fighting Daemons, it is utterly useless.
