Hamertime95
Hope this is in the right area as my main force is blood angels :) Anyway i was Just thinking of getting back into a starting army mix of Blood and dark angels and wanted to have a chaplain and librarian lead a section each :) so I was just wondering what you guys think is the better Librarian and Chaplain HQ from either book and how do you like to run them? This is preferably for smaller points games between 1000-1500 point games :)
Ushtarador
Well, a dark angel librarian only costs 65 points and can also choose divination, so gameplaywise I would go that route. Fluffwise a chaplain might be better suited for the DA. Also, they can take a regular Chaplain as a HQ, whereas we only have Reclusiarchs (or whatever they are called in english), you could also save some points there if you don't mind the worse profile. Drunken Angel
DA Chaplains dont have a decent litanies of hate, LOH is what Chaplains really add so go the DA libby way. Put the libby on a bike. A T5 psyker on a bike Or you could give the libby a jump pack for 5 less points and put him with the Sanguinary Guard or Death Company. Give him Divination and your away. Jorre
I have much love for the dark angel Libby so I would go that way. When I compare a DA Libby to one of our own sanguinary priests I cry a little! An extra 15 points buys them a force weapon, +1 wound and leadership, and a really nice selection of psychic powers! Da Libby really is a steal price wise, I intend on adding a small contingent to my BA force!
SamaNagol
They only get one power though. But the lvl 2 one really is a no brainer. But then Ezekiel is even better value... haha
Xenith
When I compare a DA Libby to one of our own sanguinary priests I cry a little! An extra 15 points buys them a force weapon, +1 wound and leadership, and a really nice selection of psychic powers! But they lose the ability to give everyone within 6" FNP, and +1S on the charge. The passive powers are just as good, if not better than the libby's active ones. I'd happily pay another 10 points or so for +1W on the priest, though... EricBasser
I've been thinking of the same thing. I wanted to make a Chaplin heavy army. I was going to go the other side, Dark Angels with Blood angels as allies. HQs from Dark Angels would be Interrogator-Chaplin with Jump Pack, Mace of Redemption, and Shroud of Heroes. Gives him Feel No Pain and a +3 Str ap3 power weapon. HQs for Blood Angels would be Astorath. Two full assault squads with attached priests. Just seems fun. Add in Stormraven and two escorting Neplilim. It would be a fast list. Not sure how competitive, but i would have fun with it.
