Hey all, I'm back after a very busy and convoluted couple of years. My Eldar are finished and shelved and now its time to turn my attention back to my first love. I plan to create the best looking Dark Angel army I have ever done which means it will take a bit of time to get up to fighting strength but with a new look B&C its only right that I start posting my new look Army.

The army will be Ravenwing Heavy with supporting elements from the DW and DA 6th Reserve Company. But to begin with I'm putting together a small 600pt force for an event in March composed entirely of green wing.

First up is the Standard of Devestation (on 40mm base for look but will be measured from the banner top for fairness)

Next is the Whirlwind and a 5 Man Tactical (Sarge is being replaced for event to make him Bolter equiped and not-veteran)

And Finally a Dreadnought (Assault Cannon downgraded to TL Auto Cannon hopefully in the post)

Well I hope you like them

The detailing on the whirlwind is superb, I love the gunner inside. I should no what those gothic bits are off but I'm having a bit of blonde moment and cannot remember for the life of me what they are off!

Cheers, they're from the Dark Talon i just cut them down to fit!

It's kinda freehand/ kinda cheating. It's a black and white photocopy, reduced by 12% printed onto extra thin art paper and attached to the plastic banner with watered down pva. Then I just painted in the lines! woot.gif

Still awesome, but don't feel so bad about my own freehand skills now :)

Thanks guys, I've started work on the 4 veterans to accompany the Standard Bearer. None will be robed but instead will be wearing Mk Several armour to show their veteran status. Hope to have some pics up tommorrow, friday at the latest.

Is this Ben from Worthy Painting videos?

First off superb banner! It is incredible! I love the Heresy era helmet and the subtle conversions. The Whirlwind is awesome with the use of the Dark Talon bits. Seriously such a great idea to add a Dark Angels spin without doing Forge World doors and etched brass.

I can't wait to see more!

Patrick

PS: Fallen all the way!!!!

Agree with all of the above! The banner and bearer look awesome, excellent work (and very cool technique). The Whirlwind looks very cool all blinged out and while the base is neat, my personal opinion is that I don't like bases on vehicles. Very cool dread!

Looking forward to more of these!

Haha awesome man! I talked with Nick the other day! I'll need your expertise on Pre-Heresy ideas for the stuff I'm sending in! I might have to borrow your idea with the darktalon bits in the FellBlade if you don't mind mate!

Cool, If you want me do build it for you just let him know. Love converting Dark angels. Big thing I'd say is get them to take the rivets off. But feel free to ask I tend to have a hand in most of the DA stuff! whistlingW.gif
