so yeah. my sisters. currently at 991 points. very odd. but i'm still in the building phase. for example i have only one rhino right now. lol

• my best squad is probably the retributors with heavy bolters. their rending shots pwn all the things.
• my favorite act of faith .. probably the dominion's. i plan to do a squad chock full of flamers. yum.
• i can't say i have a favorite army to play against, really, i've only ever played against dark angels and guard so far. guard die easier, tho, so probably them if i had to pick between the 2. lol
• my nemesis is probably my friend's deathwing/ravenwing army. brutal no matter how you slice it with the new dex.
• my favorite point levels are around 1500-1750

having said that, i think my favorite unit so far is the seraphim, because i have a soft spot for jump infantry, and because they're terrifying. especially so with st. celestine attached. lots of bullets and fire, hammer of wrath, rerolled wounds and hit and run.

My sisters have been 'in reserve' since before the WD 'dex when I moved.

 

At the time my favorite units were my fratris militia. I had great fun picking esoteric figures from the back catalouges for them.

 

It'd be a toss up between spirit of the martyr and divine guidance.

 

I had fun pitting then against a Blood Angle army, all those power weapons and no save to deny.

 

Grey Knights gave me grief, my hordes of McDudes had a hard time closing against all that stormbolter fire.

Never played with any speciall rules so dont know what Act's is good and whats not.. (my friends dident allow me to play with "speciall" units or powers...)

hmm... like to play against Imperial fist... nothing is better then 2 Gun line armies standing still for 6 rounds and shoting all they can^^

Favorit point is probebly around 1000-1500

you should point out to your friends that the "special rules and powers" are what makes your army worth playing. lol
the acts of faith are key to the sisters' competitiveness and the biggest distinction between them and any other army.
you don't have to have, say, a named character, but if you don't use any of your army's core rules you'll probably lose to a similar marine force every time, because you'll take more wounds on average due to the lower toughness, and losing all the time is no fun at all :(

we stopt playing with speciall rules when i made a list with 90% deep strike... and they usely bombard my tanks with normal bolter runds so its kinda fine^^

lol, heavy deepstrike lists are a pain, to be sure.
i love the sisters special rules, they really bring a feel of synergy to the table and i feel like it discourages unit spam.

My sisters army will soon be over 3000pts :-)

 

Favourite unit Rets with HB with Act of faith and join a canonness to the squad too rerolling 1s lol

 

But if playing nids or orks or guard I love immorlator with TFHF and alerts squad with 4 HF :-)

 

2000pts plus is good :-) 2 HQ 4 Troopsopens up 6 Heavy Supports (3 Exorcist, 1 Ret Squad with HB's, 1 Rets squad with HF mounted in immorlator, 3 pent engines :-) )

 I've got roughly 1500 or so points of Sisters collected. I told myself that I'm not going to buy anything but more Immolater kits until a new codex and model release comes out. That seemed plausible at one time, though now I'm not so sure anymore.

 

My favorite unit is a toss up between Celestine and my Heavy Bolter Retributors, though the Exorcists are good too. I've yet to play against any army other than Tau with them, but this will be changing soon. Every time I'm putting together a list I seem to be running behind schedule, so throwing together Chaos Marines turns out to be easier. BUT, I'm determined to play my Sisters more, and I'm currently working on some Lamenters allies so I can bring the girls to the larger point battles my friends like to play. I'm also considering making my Sisters an air cavalry list just for the fun of it, but that's neither here nor there.

 

My weakness/nemesis is forgetting to use my Acts of Faith or not knowing the best situations to use which one. Because I need to play them more to better learn.

Well to date i have over 10k worth of SoB, currently in the process of touch-up painting and rebasing the whole army (half way done).

 

I would say my favourite squad so far is a Retributor squad with 4 heavy flamers and a combi flamer in an Immolator. The enemy underestimates them until you get Divine Guidence off and you suddenly score 20+ Rending attacks.

 

Though i just love the way Celestine can defeat the toughest opponents and has to be one of the most visualising miniature in the game, it's just a fantistic figure.

 

Act of Faith..Divine Guidance, i find some of the other limiting and not that effective, compared to 3rd ed, the Faith rules only leave option for really 2 or 3 as a priority for you limited 1d6 Faith per turn.

 

Project to date, painting a wall of martyres in and converting a Fortress of Redemption to my SoB.

Hmm... My army's somewhere between two thousand and three thousand points, I think, not including Laevantine (my super-heavy) or allies.

 

Best unit has to be Dominions, hands down. Say what you like about Retributors and Exorcists, if I want to guarantee something dies, I call in the Dominions. They're a lot less reliant on good dice rolls.

 

On the other hand, my favourite Act of Faith has to be Spirit of the Martyr. Thematically, it's just got that little extra 'something special' that the other Acts lack. Divine Guidance is only good for two our of three weapon choices. Holy Fullisade is useful but not special. Light of the Emperor is too much a case of, "lets give them something like what Space Marines get, but not as good because they're only Sisters", a guaranteed way to tick me off, and the others are just so situational they're not really worth it. Special mention goes to the Seraphim power, which given their role is a bit like "twin linked but less good" and feels like they designed the rule before deciding to let them fire their pistols twice instead of twinlinked.

 

Favourite army to play against? Probably Necrons. Not CronAir, of course, that's just an exercise in frustration, but a Necron ground army... mostly I love the fact that Sisters are basically built to fight them unless the Necrons are spamming or pure-Immortal.

 

Which army is my nemesis? Don't have one, really. Anything with AP3 spam, I guess.

 

I generally prefer to play at the 1000 to 1500 point range. Games are quick, Sisters are at their best at that range, and I get to use my cool stuff.

 

nzz - did your 'friends' play without And They Shall Know No Fear, Combat Tactics and Combat Squads, too, if you weren't using special rules in those games? :p

I can field arround 2500pts. It is mostly Sisters Gunline, wih no ecclesiarchy wierdness. No conclave, No Penitent Engines, few and rarely fielded arcofagellants.

My best squad and in the "Always fielded" category is the Retributors. I have no favorite Faith point. I see faih these days as flavour rather than a game changer. I would have to say my mosut fun use of faith in this edition was sweeping a squad of Dark Eldar Incubi plus archin off the board with the fire of a Bolter gunline using the faith to re-roll ones.

I dont play games very widely, i play against mostly DArk Eldar; Eldar; Tau; and occasionally Mechanicus. My favorite to play against is DE. Sisters are tailor made to smash em. I havent come accross a nemesis yet. I have comprehensively defeated everyone in the previous list and can add Chaos Marines and Necrons to the list of victories, although i play them infrequently. I prefer 1750. Or 1500 as i do not belive the current 6th edition lends itself to larger games. It is not fast flowing enough, I have had many games get bogged fdown in rules referencing to discover what nuance of rules need to be invoked by a particular situation.

If I fielded every model it would be around 2000 points (but not FOC legal), however I am still building/converting, as well as expanding my collection so that number is rising all the time. 

 

I like a strong pool of units to draw lists from (like with my space marines), so it's going to take a while :p  But, considering I have little interest in other 40k armies I might as well!

i think I've got about 6 to 7 thousand points worth of Sisters and their support. You see, I used to very much enjoy playing Apoc with them, but now I only field them with IG allies in those situations. I've around 100 bolter girls, 2 Canonesses, 20 seraphim, 3 simulacrums, 1 banner, 13 Heavy Bolters, 10 multimeltas, 8 heavy flamers, quite a number of Sisters superiors with various combi weapons, St Celestine, Uriah, Kyrinov, 6 arcoflagellants, 6 death cult assassins, 3 crusaders, 12 rhino/immolators, 5 Exorcists, 3 unassembled Penitent Engines (sigh!), 20 flamers, 10 stormbolters, and maybe 15 meltaguns. I also have built up a custom Storm Lord which I call the St Dominica's Fury.

 

My best squad hands down is the Dominions. They just scout forward pop a vehicle with their Immolator and usually BBQ whatever was in it or some other unit. The 2nd best is my Seraphim whoi will also juist kill a unit when led by St Celestine. I hardly ever have to wade into CC

 

Personally I think the best Act of Faith is The Emepror's Deliverance. It makes those Seraphim with their flamers a killer.

 

My nemesis is hard to say. Any decent assault army that makes into CC with me just wipes me out usually. i find that usually if I can go first then that doesn't happen as often unless the dice gods hate me. My biggest weakness is my dice rolling. They particularly hate me when I roll for Acts of Faith.

 

My preferred level of play is 2000 points, but I often play at 3000 against my 2 buddies. I usually play the side with 1 person since I have the most models.
