Adeptus-Alaska Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 well well well, I am finally getting of my butt and doing this! so, as it stands, the four armies are; 1. The Iron Snakes, Proud Sons of Ithaka. 2. The Lamenters, Repentant scions of Angelic One. 3. The Star Phantoms, the new Lords of the Maelstrom. 4. The Ultramarines, the legion-esque lords of Ultramar This thread will ebb and flow as I have time, I will try to at least update weekly. My other projects/armies will make appearances as well. the focus of this thread is to start four(gasp, right) armies in an escalation league style. IRON SNAKES: well according to the core book, they have commited 5 companies to the Eye of Terror. so these guys will be the Cadian Gate undertaking. this is the army that might fight next to my IG. I will keep to the fluff, what little there is, but with one slight change. It will be Captain Priad now. and most of the rest of Damoclese has been promoted to leading other notables...... I will also try to get some classcal Greek goodness it this army. THE LAMENTERS: this is gonna be a dual purpose army. I will use them as followers of the Tyrant, but I will also use them as reintagrated loyalists going to the Eye of Terror to make Huron pay for his part in there sins. I will be changing their heraldry a tad, but fear not, they will be Lamenters. THE STAR PHANTOMS: This army is due to (very) popular demand. I have read what the 40k wiki and the lexicanium had to say. too be honest, I have fallen in love with this army. I am a fan of the big guns. my dilemma is which dex to use. If I go with Vanilla, I get the thunderfire cannon.......in white! but, If I go with the DA dex, I get termies with plasma cannons, and chaplains with command squads.....but I don't know if that dex really fits. I am kicking around an idea that will appear very obvious when revealed. but I don't thing anyone has gone down that road yet. It would be a very slippery slope......... Also, this army will be probably the most customized. I really want to play up the whole death cult/mausoleum/cript vibe. lot's of skulls and grim reaper references. ULTRAMARINES: This will be another theme/conversion heavy army as I plan to squeeze as much roman bling as I possibly can into it, and it will eventually become the zeist campaign, lots of colors! Razblood Posted January 31, 2013 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I wouldn't worry too much about the sculpting, backpacks cover up a host of sins ;) As far as the rest goes I like the kitbash a lot, especially the old chunky pistol (I'm pretty sure I've got one somewhere :lol: ) and it's nice to see a Lamenters scheme that isn't eye searing. I bought one of those bitz grab bags and got like two pounds of stuff and this was in it. I can't recommend bitz grab bags enough. ask biohazard, he did it first!
