Where was Kharn from again?

Yeah I know that much but for some reason I remember something saying that he was from a mountainous region of Terra and I wasn't sure where I read that. Hence me asking for a book and page number. For some reason I am fixating on Betrayer but I can't find it.

Sorry, I know I'm double posting, but this is on a more personal, curious note rather than a "I need help finding a passage because someone is being mislead by wrong information from wikipedia." Basically, where was it first said that Khârn was Terran at all? Was it in the Horus Heresy series? Or was it much older? For some reason I am remembering it as one of those things that "have always been" so I was curious if anyone actually remembered or had a general idea?

Fairly sure there's a short story when Angron is first given to his Legion. All the high ranking officers gathered outside the chamber and went in one by one to be slaughtered by Angron. It was implied that this was the start of the World Eaters under Angron and the first time they met their primarch so all the Legionaries where Terran at the stage.

Having a search through books it was After Desh'ea from Tales of Heresy. Khârn was a captain at that stage, even if the War Hounds started taking candidates from other worlds (never mentioned that any legion did this before meeting their primarch) it's fairly certain that Khârn is from Terra. That's the only source I remember for a Terran Khârn but I don't follow Khârn's fluff so there could be older/contradicting fluff. It'd be worth checking some of the older editions of the Choas Marines codex though.

Well, we do know that he lives on a mountain range at an elevation that he sees year-round snowfall. To be honest, the first thing that pops into mind is the Himalayas or the Alps(not considering the accent) but that is due to my general lack of knowledge about the specific geography in that part of the world.

But since they made an effort to have the same person talk the exact same way for two different audiobooks in portraying Khorne, who knows? Besides, what's wrong with the White Scars speaking with a Jamaican accent? Just because they look and act Mongolian, it doesn't mean they have to talk like it. ;)
