Lords of War, Allies and the Ad Mech

Sooo, the Crusade Legion list gives you access to the Lords of War in a regular game of 30k, with the restriction that the Slot cannot go over 25%. It also mentions that a Crusade Legion list can take various Super Heavies, in those that are mentioned are Titans.

Now the issue is that the Titans are listed under the Mechanicum entries not the Marines. So does this mean that the only way you can access a Titan in a non Apoc game is by taking a Mechanicum ally contingent and bringing it in as a Lord of War through the allies FOC?

No where can I see in the book saying that the Lord of War choice bypasses the normal requirements for the choice to be taken from your own list, the Titans are clearly not in the Marines list, they are in the Mechanicum. There is an ally matrix, plus there is a HQ choice and a Troop choice for the Mechanicum allowing you to field a 'legal' ally contingent.

Fluff wise it makes perfect sense, rarely would the Titans venture away on their own without Skitari or other Mechanicus ground support.

What are peoples thoughts?

It may be in the Mechanicum section but it's in the Lords of War section of their list so I think that's all that matters and earlier in the book it lists titans as an eligible option for a Legion Army so it doesn't matter who's list it's in but whether or not its listed as eligible or not

p. 184

The Lords of War choices eligible for the
Crusade Space Marine Legion list found in
this book are as follows:
An Imperial Super-heavy Tank or
Detachment ( 1-3 Super-heavy Tanks or
Super-heavy Walkers of up to 3 Srrucrure
Points each).
A single Titan (note this will only be
available in latger games owing to points
restrictions).
A single Imperial Super-heavy Flyer (such
as a Thunderhawk Gunship).
A squadron of 1-3 Imperial Navy Flyers
(see Imperial Annour Aeronautica for
options).
1-3 Ordo Reductor War Engines.
The Primarch of the Legion used as the
force's Primary Detachment.

A single Titan (note this will only be
available in latger games owing to points
restrictions).

This pretty much makes it clear that the Legion list is restricted to their own superheavies (Thunderhawks, Fellblades and Typhons) and Primarchs for Lord of War choices in non-apocalpyse battles, doesn't it? Only a Mechanicum primary detachment would be elegible to field Titans from their list using the HH FOC, while in Apocalypse no such restrictions exist and everything goes anyway...

I'm not understanding what the issue is here.  When we build an army we use the units in the armies list.  Titians are not included in the Legion Crusade list.  Based on what is being said, we can choose Magos Reductor Decima as a HQ for our marine legion.

The section being quoted is in the "Age of Darkness Battles" section that describes the use of all 30k lists.
