nurglespuss
Hi guys, Last time I did one of these (which is getting more frequent with the price of models!) I used Fairy Power Spray to strip the paint. At that point in time this was the best thing I had ever found to strip paint from plastic without damaging it. However, I then fount Bartoline Tx10 Paint and Varnish stripper. I've used it on everything from marines to vehicles, with excellent results. So the Rhino as it appeared on Ebay: http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/oldrhino_zps077a7779.jpg After and overnight soak: http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1743.jpg You can pull the paint of like cold chicken skin! http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1744.jpg Re-assembly: http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1782_zps5370231a.jpg And done, with a couple of add ons :) http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1783-1_zps9243e269.jpg Also works on marines :D http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1696-1-1.jpg http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1697-1-1.jpg http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/nurglespuss/IMAG1701-1-1.jpg Hope thats useful to some folk!! Also - I'll be adding the photos of the rhino as its completed, and other things :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270597-rhino-of-ebay-and-stripper/ Share on other sites

Good luck on the new paintwork. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270597-rhino-of-ebay-and-stripper/#findComment-3295971 Share on other sites
Volfen
Amazingly clean strip job. The stuff I use is concentrated Simple Green which works well on metal models, but the results are not as good as you show on your plastics. Color me interested ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270597-rhino-of-ebay-and-stripper/#findComment-3296165 Share on other sites
GLD
Good to know another stripper - I use Fairy power spray myself, but find I always seem to get some clumps in the nooks and crannies... Where did you get this mystical Bartoline Tx10? Normal DIY store? nurglespuss
Yup its available from standard diy places (wickes for instance) and on amazon and eBay. It's also much less snelly/toxic than other ones. It breaks glue bonds, dissolves glue, and doesn't damage greenatuff either.
