Vulkan captured ?

I can remember that Vulkan shout after Perturabo during the Drop Site Massacre (Perhaps in The Novel Age of Darkness ) .

So Perturabo might have been the closest to Vulkan . And maybe capture him . He build a labyrinth to put him inside . Maybe with the help of Curze . And Curze distrust Logar (en of the First Heretic ) .

So it seems logical that Lorgar don't know for Vulkan's destiny .

But in Betrayal Angron seems to know Vulkan is alive , and Angron is fighting with Lorgar . So perhaps Lorgar learned about Vilkan's destiny but later .

  • 3 weeks later...

Let's look at the facts as we know them.

1.) Vulkan was reluctant to quit the field at Isstvan and was last seen (unless something's been on one of the newer HH books or the exclusives, I'm still on Fear to Tread) charging into the fray after Perturabo.

2.) There is a large space of time during the heresy where no one, at least on the loyalist side, can account for Vulkan's wearabouts.

3.) Angron, Khârn and Lorgar? (I'm only taking this from the comments above as I've not read AE yet.) say he'll be wishing he will be dead soon.

4.) We know that while Primarchs are hard to kill short of striking their head off they can be beaten unconcious and Fabius, atleast, is capable of keeping a Primarch sedated.

So really captured is the only thing that make's sense. If he had reluctantly fled he surely would have linked up with his Son's either on the ground of back on Nocturne. It's never made sense to me that he would have survived the massacre just to sulk off around the galaxy on his own while the Empire crumbled around him. A fight between Curze and an armoured Vulkun would be interesting (I'm assuming he will break out. Unless Alpharius let's him go or something idiotic.) seeing as how Vulkun is still supposed to be the physically strongest Primarch... Unless that's changed?

One hole: We have yet(to my knowledge) to see the Salamanders' POV in the Heresy. The two Salamanders we have seen were both isolated from their Legion. So there are two options that make sense: Vulkan is on Nocturne with what is left of his Legion and the Traitors are about to attack him/he is going to do something stupid, or he is captured.

The only Loyalist Legion POVs Post-Massacre we have seen so far are the Imperial Fists, the Raven Guard, the Ultramarines, the Iron Hands and the Dark Angels. In the case of the Iron Hands, it is the POV of one crew, so it is still a rather isolated POV. Gulliman still probably thinks that what Lorgar told him about Corax and Vulkan being dead is just as true as Manus being dead because as far as I know, he hasn't been able to hear any different since his only contact with the other Legions are a different isolated crew of Iron Hands and the Dark Angels, who I don't recall knowing any different either. The Imperial Fists only know what Corax knows and that's the last time he saw his brother, he was disappearing in a pillar of flame.

Possible Spoilers for age of darkness...

There was a short POV from a wounded Salamander in Forgotten Sons in Age of Darkness. He recalls seeing Vulkan flipping a Land Raider, Ionly remeber this detail cause of how insanly awesome it was, then charging at/after Purturabo yelling. Later on he remembers being dragged to a stormbird and the other Salamanders saying Vulkan was gone. I think later on an Iron Warrior even gloats about the Vulkan later on in the story but I don't remember exactly whats said since it's been a few years since I read it.

Sorry if that's a spoiler I couldnt figure out how to put the button thing in. I assume most people have read it since it was published two years ago.

Put

at the start of what you want to hide and put the same with a forward slash (/) in between the opening bracket ([) and the 's' at the end. :)

Hmm, good point. Heka'tan was where I got Vulkan disappearing in the pillar of flame(artillery ordinance) so I may have misquoted Deliverance Lost. The Iron Warrior told Heka'tan that Vulkan was dead later on. But again, good point. I had forgotten about that. Thank you for reminding me.

No problem, brother. Yeah so if Purturabo found him after he'd headbutted an artillary shell capturing him is a real possibility. Afterall he's a lot less likely to kill a brother off hand like Angron or Possessed Fulgrim would have. Can you imagine the sort of restraints you would need for being that can lift a land raider!? Unless you got him to Fabius before he woke up.
