Kol Saresk
Maybe that's what the new ones will be? In Vulkan Lives, there is a scene in which a Reconnaissance Company charges a Death Guard line. Just as they get close, the Death Guard launch canisters of some type of gas that is literally eating away at the lighter armor as well as the people wearing it. hisdudeness
My guess it is because marine players want more variation besides non-blue ultramarines the current codex gives us. 30k really allows us to play marines that don't just look different, but play different also. Kol Saresk
Yeppers. I don't just want my Night Lords to be blue smears of lightning, I want them to hit hard, fast and right in your face so you have a chance to scream and cause a panic. Onisuzume
I assumed those were Phosphex grenades personally. They could be TP-III grenades... Like the ones used on Vraks. High concentrations of that stuff literally melted squads of guardsmen within minutes - gas mask or no. Greyall
I'd like to see Night Lords cause some manner of psychological effect (Fear, - I/A/WS) on enemies, personally. Also something preemptive, like rolling before a battle to see how those weeks of fear-causing affected the other army. Just throwing out stuff, though, don't hit me with any sort of reality, not a player. Also, if it's a Death Guard unit, let's hope they're the aesthetical precursor to some of those gas-mask designs we see on Plague Marines today. Funny tubes (40K tubes yay!), round optics, grills. AfroCampbell
It could potentially be a modified Destroyer Squad, or a modified armour mod for a tactical squad with pot-belly armour/ pipes/ single pointy spiked helms .... just spit-balling. Greyall
Pot-belly armour (not to the bloated point, of course) was actually a thing, some depictions of earlier and chaos Astartes show it and it looks cool, if done right (meaning, not round). Let's hope. What if the new Primarch is Mortarion, to go with this release? Or is it too much Death Guard? Durfast Spiritwolf
I'm still of a mind to add spikes to my DG's helms, but I think, based on the weekender, a specialist termie option is on the cards. As an aside, I think all the lists to date have received special love with plenty more on the way Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/26/#findComment-3429050 Share on other sites
AfroCampbell
na it wont be Morty sadly :'( Simon has already said multiple times Ferrus Manus is next.. :( (yay for you iron hands players tho! then booohooo that he never appears again....) Greyall
How high could an IH fan roar if the next Fulgrim model came with Ferrus' severed head strapped to the belt? =p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/26/#findComment-3429101 Share on other sites
Balthamal
Speaking of next Primarchs, word circulating slowly through the interwebz is that we'll have our first look at the next off the line at GD. Anyone taking any bets on who it is? I'm going to be first out of the gate n say Lorgar Aurelian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/26/#findComment-3429129 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
At the weekender, Forge World said that Ferrus Manus was the next primarch in line (UKGD) or do you mean the primarch after that? blackoption
I remember hearing somewhere that he was doing Horus after Ferrus... But its been so long and I no longer remember the source. Greyall
Mortarion's overdue, as well. Simon's words, if I remember correctly. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/26/#findComment-3429185 Share on other sites
Balthamal
I just assumed they'd leave Mortarion until such time as they could do him all Nurgle-fied but then again I suppose he'd have his own set of rules when that came along so who knows. I can see them leaving Horus to the very end though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/26/#findComment-3429217 Share on other sites
Greyall
Primarchs who change a lot or become daemon princes will have two models, mate. That's pretty much confirmed, at the moment. PS: Ferrus Manus' 'change' doesn't qualify, though. marine7312000
So basically, the Loyalists get screwed on Primarch models while the Traitors get options..... Greyall
What's Forgeworld supposed to do? Loyalists keep their attires throughout the Heresy. Mate, not to take away any rights to your opinion, but you're damn near spitting on one of the greatest things us 40K fans have ever received. You've seen the quality of the Primarch models. Even if your World Eater buddy gets two Angrons and you're left with one, the thought of someone holding an awesome model and saying he's 'screwed' doesn't fit... Kol Saresk
I don't know, they could just have a chalk outline with some bits of his armor, give him a CSM's statline, that should suffice.
