At first it made sense that the first book would the initial contact between the already present Traitor Legions and the Loyalists, with book two focusing on the endgame when the other four Traitors land. But it looks like they're mixing the Legions up between the two, so I'm not sure if they will split the depiction of the battle itself that way.

Still, I find it absolutely awesome that the first major part of the Heresy, the Isstvan battles, has three entire rulebooks' worth of fluff and artwork. It makes me giddily happy to be so inundated with Isstvan stuff.

I know the second trilogy will be a battle each book, but I'm hoping they do the same come the Siege.

Ending with an Emperor model. On the throne.

Damn !! :)

Nope. The images in the rumor thread were apparently removed at the source by the time I saw them.

For you Kol, now hosted at photobucket for you

Caradara Armour Claw..... Looks like my hopes of a Night Lords Armour Force are coming true...... I feel giddy.

Actually Depthcharge, I was think that it'd be like walking into this deep, underground gothic cathedral. Every step you make, is watched by the malevolent eyes of a Custodes. Every breath you take, is filled with dust that has sat undisturbed for ten millennia. And then, when you finally reach the Throne Room, you see the Corpse-Emperor, cast across the Golden Throne, His flesh rotted and His clothes turned to thin whisps. Over the sound of machinery, you hear the slight scratching of needle moving across a record, and then you hear:

And yes, it was most gratifying. Thanks for the help guys. biggrin.png

I am shamelessly getting the SoH reavers and command squad and repurposing it to World Eater directives.

Their models are awesome and dont look like they just had a gallon of novacaine injected into their faces like the rampagers

Yup, had the same plans for quite a while now... This SoH command squad will make a perfect WE command too (and thankfully don't have too many Eyes o' H to take off).

I used to think the Night Lords had the ugliest, most silly colourscheme. Mainly due to bad paintjobs. Now, after seeing some stuff from FW I'm seriously considering starting a force. A nice thing about them is also that you can use a 30k army for 40k without fluff-problems, since they aren't that devoted to Chaos and probably still use most of the heresy armour in 40k...

I think my Iconography is outdated. Does anyone know who the skull-portcullis belongs to? Is it Legio Mortis?

Not to mention the winged spear and the weird, flaming cog.

Legio Mortis would certainly be one. Don't forget there are other Legio Titanicus with the Legions at the dropsite. Think it's mentioned in Prince of Crows about Legio Ulricon so don't rule it out

Yeap Kol. Thats the Legio Mortis, they used the same icon in Betrayal.

EDIT: Damn you are fast Balthamal... Ninjaed me right there.

It's all this potential Night Lord flavoured goodness, better than any sugar rush.

If of course Night Lords were known for their sugary sweet disposition....

The video makes me want to do Salamanders. I think the shade of green and hope for some cool accessories.

NB: so that's Luna Wolves, World Eaters, Night Lords, now Salanders. Thinking of Iron Warrior allies as well. Every time a read something it makes me want to start them (except EC and WB).

BTW the list is of the ones I WANT to do not ARE doing.

Yep, that's Legio Mortis.

The burning swordcog and the winged spear are new.

Means there were at least two other Loyalist elements present, not just the three Legions. One must be Mechanicum. The other?

Edit: Lexicanum states that there was Imperial Army armour present with the Loyalists. Perhaps they are regiments and we will see some Army rules like Betrayal gave some Mechanicum?

As said before, the gate icon is Legio Mortis, as seen on page 138 of Betrayal... The new icons introduced on the Massacre map have me puzzled; the Winged spear and FlamingSword-Cog are both interesting; is the cog an IH clan or another Titan Legio? Is the Spear an unexpected Imperial army presence? o.Ô

+Edit : Pfft, I would swear Cormac's last post wasn't there when I last refreshed my browser. Guess posting between calls at work means it sometimes takes me ages before I manage to hit Send... blush.png
