Hyaenidae
An adjutant listens to the voice of experience. The Watchdog thinks he is the voice of experience. The latter would suffer an unfortunate accident in a traverse. Kol Saresk
But why would a Son of Horus not think he is the voice of experience? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/37/#findComment-3441448 Share on other sites
Conn Eremon
Kol's got a point. You could always theme it around the point when obeying the Warmaster outshines their dislike for the attachment, even if that is a very short period of time. Or they keep them for the chuckles caused every time one of them says something like "Nonsense, I'll only take a quick look." Hyaenidae
Why would he think he was? How many years has he served? Does he even know how the Iron Warriors function, or how we conduct war? My Dragoon-Captain has served since Unification. What does this child who is not even sure what color to paint his warplate have to offer, that I do not already know? Edit: Dang, I'm even already thinking like an Iron Warrior; bitter and paranoid, lol. Entei
Also, I recall someone asking if Sevatar's helmet was head-crested or painted. According to page 413: A guttural grunt of amusement issued from Sevatar's skull-painted helm. Again, all cited material are pages 413(Sevatar's helm), 414(Astartes against Astartes), 420(Gal Vorbak will stand with Iron Warriors) and 425(layout of the Four "Loyalist" Legions as they land and set up) of The First Heretic by A D-B. Actually what I meant was if his helm was skull-shaped or skull-painted, but you answered it. He wears a backswept batwings-helmetcrest on it also, which is mentioned several times in Prince of Crows. Edit: Dang, I'm even already thinking like an Iron Warrior; bitter and paranoid, lol. Here's the important question, does he even care? After all, he is the "Son" of Horus. The very Son who was sent to you, for whatever reason. To promote brotherhood, inter-Legion training, to be a watchdog, for whatever reason. This young, upstart pup comes from the Warmaster's Legion. Not only that, but he's fought against Garviel Loken and Tarik Torgaddon, two of the Legion's Four Legendary Warriors - and won! He is also a veteran of Istvaan V as well. Somewhere on his belt is the blackened, scarred helmet of a Loyalist he burned with a flamer that was on hand. With an ego like that, why should he bow down to a lowly Iron Warrior who hasn't fought his own brothers or shed as much Loyalist blood? Just kidding, as long as you can pull it off, I want to see this "Adjutant". @Entei: True, true. Marshal Rohr
Sons of Horus officer could simply be a tactical air controller or something from the Sons ready to swoop in on an Iron Warriors breach in the Palace Defenses. Make him a Master of Signal or Siege Breaker and get the Reserves deal or the Nuncio-Vox for your Medusas. Hyaenidae
Hmmm this got me thinking of an idea for some Blood Angels pathfinders. I was debating fulfilling that task with some Alpha Legionnaires, but decided in the end to go with some Iron Warriors in blackened armour to cross No-Man's Land at night, clip razorwire, and jump into enemy trenches to slit throats and demo command bunkers. Marshal Rohr
I had wanted to do a Blood Angel Airborne platoon as an allied detachment. I've modified my TOE to the combined arms marine one you showed me with some slight modifications. WarSpirit
Just got my white dwarf and saw the Erebus model from forge world. Just got to say oh my god, that model is awesome ! GodEmperorOfMankind
Same here, popped into my local GW and leafed through the pages. That Erebus model is exquisite, so detailed! I then had a conversation with the guy about how everyone hates Erebus, even more so than Fabius Bile, and how when he's fielded he should give all enemy units the USR focus fire: Erebus ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/37/#findComment-3442130 Share on other sites
Marshal Traben
That Erebus model is really awesome. Erebus's name is fitting, considering his namesake. Erebus was the son of Chaos, in Greek mythology. Kol Saresk
Out of curiosity, I couldn't make it out through the pic, but I could make out "Caradara Armour Claw" in that White Dwarf pic of the Night Lord tanks. Can anyone clarify what the Caradara Armour Claw is? If it is readable? Conn Eremon
Aren't 'claws' the basic unit of the Night Lords Legion, like a squad? Maybe it's a named armour platoon. WarSpirit
Yeah i think it's kind of the designation for a group of armored transport for the NL but can be mistaken. @AngelAbsolute : Or everyone gains the hatred (Erebus) special rule. But even if i despise the guy i love the model and he may find his way in my collection. I also love the work done on Kor Phaeron up to now. WarSpirit
It's not enough to make it worth again imo as a decent magasine. Greyall
Out of curiosity, I couldn't make it out through the pic, but I could make out "Caradara Armour Claw" in that White Dwarf pic of the Night Lord tanks. Can anyone clarify what the Caradara Armour Claw is? If it is readable? Claw as in unit, I think, the same as it is for infantry forces. Also, that Salamander face-painting is incredibly detailed, it's going to be super hard for most people to pull it off but, one the other hand, maybe that means dragon-faced helms. Kol Saresk
Yeah, I was trying to ask if anyone could figure out what the little writing beneath it was. WarSpirit helped out, but it just looks like a bunch of Latin. Not even sure if it isn't some form pseudo-Latin meant to just fill space. And actually, I don't recall anything saying Claws were only Squads. Nothing says they couldn't be an armored squadron. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270656-incoming-heresy-models/page/37/#findComment-3443878 Share on other sites
