Very psyched to see FW's take on the Night Lords. If nothing else, those models will provide lots of skull, chains and skin bits for Chaos and Flesh Tearers fans alike.

 

Just kidding, they'll look awesome. I'm most eager to see the Raptors' granpapas.

I'm eager to read how the Raven Guard are gunned down, cut down, slaughtered, massacred and beaten, and yet they still make the Iron Warriors look like idiots.

Hm. Yes, indeed. Man, those tasked with hunting the last of the Ravens and their lord must have been so frustrated. First hunting them all across Isstvan V for an age, then all of a sudden one of their ships appears, picks the mall up and takes off. Cue the same hunt, in space. But you don't catch them. They just zip on out, only appearing when it is too late to do anything but imagine how pissed off the Warmaster is going to be when he hears about this.

I curse the day I decided not to go to GD now. Can see a desperate plea across the forum for someone to pick up a copy of Massacre.

 

Hopefully, this set will be something like torsos with chained skulls and flayed skin on them or across shoulder pads. And hopefully it's not stupid expensive since the tactical bundle is already eye watering lol

Nobody I know goes to Gamesday anymore, haven't for some time, and the last couple of years have been the first time I regretted it as it means I have to wait for a minimum of three weeks afterwards to get my hands on the Forgeworld goodies(two weeks for it to go on sale, minimum one week to ship it, because no FW, I will not pay your completely random and obscene express shipping charge). It's particularly painful this year given my favourite Marines will be featuring(and hopefully getting better treatment than they have in the HH novels so far, where they might as well have been replaced by a Legion of bionic punching bags).

My thought's exactly but now from the little drips that will slowly turn into a torrent of leaks and rumours before the day itself, I might strategically deploy my credit card and get in one huge bulk order thus saving me money on shipping it all separately and also ensure greased lightning delivery. Between the book, a Mark IV Tactical Bundle and assorted bits and pieces I think £250 is achievable.

 

Sadly that also means no FW until I go to Warhammer World with my mates in the spring :(

Actually, what reeeaally leaves me itchy are the Firedrakes. I want to see how far beyond simply fire motifs and scales can FW go - even if it's just those two elements, they should make for awesome models, but FW tends to surprise us, and they haven't been shy about messing with known armour marks.

I'm interested for the new book.  So rarely do we see any of the special units for any of the Drop Site Massacre legions, except for Iron Hands's Morlocks and Word Bearers's Gal Vorbak.

 

I've especially never heard of the pyroclasts of the Salamanders and the Circle of Ashes (or whatever they're called) of the Word Bearers.  Hopefully they'll have interesting fluff and game design beyond being made simply to fill out the legion's special units roster.

The Vakrah Jal will be interesting because two wrist mounted hand flamers and scimitar/kopesh style swords sounds so badass as to be untrue. Sadly however don't expect to see them until Calth/The Shadow Crusade

I'd say they'll also be interesting for people wanting some new Possessed models, though the current ones aren't bad. And yes, their wargear of choice is 40k-gasmic.

 

I honestly can't start to imagine what the Circle of Ashes game rules will be, though. Maybe they burn everyone's oath scrolls and Loyalists just start crying?

I think you mean Gal Vorbak.

The Vakrah Jal were a Chapter's worth of Word Bearers that Argel Tal organized after the original Gal Vorbak all went their way and he 2,000 "thin-bloods" for Calth. The Jal are basically made up of all the Word Bearers who survived their squads/companies/chapters on Istvaan. Where once Argel Tal was master of the Chapter of the Crimson Sun, he now has forged the Chapter of Consecrated Iron. And they were awesome.

But as far as we know, Argel Tal was the only possessed in their number.

Im thinking that the scimitars that they carry will just be charnabal sabres

That'd actually be kind of cool. Death Guard launch chemical weapons, Word Bearers launch Hell-in-a-bottle.

Would I be wrong to draw parralells between this Circle of Ashes and the gauntlet-flamer troops that help Argel Tal defend "the package" from the mob of crew?

Aye, Kais, you would. The Circle is a new unit dedicated to destroying libraries and knowledge centers. Argel's crew is a direct attack unit, from what accounts we have, and goes by a different name. But it is true that the Bearers seem to have taken a liking to flame weapons. Probably has to do with their symbol

I want to place my bets on the much anticipated circle of ashes destroyers...but I have a feeling that they might not be released until massacre comes out.

 

Other bets might be either the 30k vindicator or the mkII special weapons set.
