Before reading the potential RoW and the new units I would have said a Legion Tactical Bundle would have been a solid start, since you're getting 30 marines plus weapons albeit just bolters but now reading about terror squads or raptors, I'm feeling more inclined to wait. Which is a shame because my credit card is literally scaling my wallet screaming to be unleashed on all of this VIII Legion goodness darkness

Well, mostly I want to know what exactly is a terror squad and what their normal dedicated transport is.

A drop pod list would be interesting, but I'm hoping that they're like the Rampagers and get Phobos Land Raiders. Then, I can get three Land Raiders as dedicated Transports and then fill that one Heavy Support Slot with a squadron of three tanks(most likely Predators) and then figure out where to go from there.

I can't remember if the squad colour plate in the video is for a generic squad or an actual terror squad because those power axes look rather nice. Although I plan to take a file to any plain bladed weapon and add some incisions to make them look that much more evil.

Plus the downside to going flat out with the Tactical Bundle is the potential of missing out on upgrades like torsos covered in flayed flesh and chained skulls etc

This one is a Terror Squad. I'm just curious as to the whole range of options they can field since I'd have to(and very willingly) take three squads as compulsory Troops for any list I'd develop that uses the Night Lords Rite of War.

All bearing Sinner's Red? cool.png

In my army? Well, that was when I was thinking they'd be Elites, not Troops. So, I'm thinking maybe just one would start out with Sinner's Red. Although, a whole company of Sinners would be awesome..... the Red-Handed Thirteenth perhaps.... no, too close to the Bloody Thirteenth. Maybe, the Thirteenth Sinners? Got a little inverse Bible application, thirteen is always a(n) (un)lucky number, and it hits the message this is a company of sinners..... I think I like it.....

There it is folks. The Thirteenth Company of Sinners.

Or spoken of in the muttering darkness of the VIII Legion fleet as the Forsaken Thirteenth, cast aside from even the dubious brotherhood offered by the sons of the sunless world for failures heinous enough to earn the disgust of torturers, rapists and murderers....

Damn I'm keeping this idea! They shall be 4th Company, VIII Legiones Astartes, Forsaken, left to drive on the minor 943rd Expeditionary Fleet in the deepest black for the gravest of failures in the eyes of the Primarch: honour......

Aye, brothers in red clad in midnight.

Sinners' Thirteen kind of sounds good.

Oh, and happy Friday the 13th! For those of you still in Friday and who go by the Gregorian calendar.

Huh. Almost forgot about that.

EDIT: Coincidentally, it is also the 13th Year of the 21st Century, also by the Gregorian Calendar. So go figure, the Sinners' Thirteenth was born on 9/13/13. Too bad I missed 8:13 P.M.(EST) by eight minutes. Would've been perfect. tongue.png

Wow. Just wow. Those NLs are amazing.

Im afraid for the world eaters as you guys know, and am becoming a chronic complainer unfortunately.

The red butchers? I thought the Caedere were the butchers. I believe Lanius in Latin means butcher but really? I hope the WEs get some better squads and rules soon...maybe an update to their legion from the last book?

Unfortunately I like guys that are still tactically competent but border on the let off the leash mentality. I kinda wish that we got the old furious charge rule with +1 S and I which would make them great, but hey cant complain too much. I hope Khârn is an absolute badarse too...Shabran darr was a little lackluster

sigh

Actually it would be funny and fluffy if the we got a forlorn hope type unit that recycles tac squad recruits with chainaxes :P

Its a miracle that the we haven't been annihilated by more tactically competent legions

It's possible the Butcher's might the Terminator Elite.....

But hey, consider when Betrayal first came out, the general consensus was that no one knew what to make as a second unit(Betrayer hadn't been published yet IIRC), as long it isn't a Rampager recycle, I'm willing to bet more than a few people will dig it.

Yeah hopefully and I want the first four to be fleshed out more.

Just take a look at the Iron hands rules and Night Lords rules.

The world eaters just have chainaxes and their two special rules that come into affect after winning close combat and forcing a fall back.

Kinda weak sauce. I dont want to come across as a debby downer but I do hope that betrayal was world eaters 1.0 and they get fleshed out more and get viable options against marines not just ap 4 and 5 weapons which do nothing except to two units in the book.

Well Forgeworld has said that they'd keep adding on. It's possible the original Four will not only get new models, but maybe some additional rules as well. I'd like to think that if Forgeworld says "We'll add on with every book" that they will actually add on. Otherwise their reputation would be at stake.

Didn't the video mention something about Red Butchers (whatever that is?) and Kakophonie.  I know we're expecting the Kakophonie, so that's nothing new, but the Red Butchers sound like World Eaters Rampagers starting to begin Khorne worship.

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm still interested to find out more about the Sicaran Battle Tanks.  It's one of the few vehicles that we had no clue about until Forge World's releases.  I mean, we knew about the HH jetbikes, Javelin speeder, and super-heavy tanks from the art that existed before the release, but the Sicaran is something completely new.  I know mentioned it being another rediscovery by Land, but still, it's intriguing.

Who am I to doubt the almighty forgeworld?

I have failed them...penance is required :D

thanks kol for reminding me that FW delivers again and again

No problem. In these dark times where Father GW knows not what it does, it is difficult to keep faith in the Second-born, Forgeworld. Though through no fault of its(or your) own.

Oh, I remember questions were raised about the Word Bearers' dual color schemes. While we've never seen any Grey WB yet except for that one poster, it looks like the general consensus about the red-black scheme being specific to the Chapter of the Serrated Sun(Gal Vorbak) is correct. At least, they seem to be according to this pic.

Well looking at the video, around 2:49 the Emperor's Children rules appear. They are the same as book one with a new Right of War for the legion. So I do not think at this time there will be any changes. Maybe when chaos gets more of a hold on the legions, but not just yet I'm afraid to say.

Thanks for noticing I couldn't pick up everything :)

Though that gleeful smile by Alan Bligh and the promise of more to come makes me giddier than a college student in a liquor store
