There could be a very simple reason for why the Salamanders are not out yet. They aren't ready yet. They might not have a strict schedule of "Do this unit, then this one, I want it done by Friday." It could be a "We need these units done, make sure I have something to release Friday." They might work on inspiration, not finalizing a model until they get it "right." We might be seeing more of some over others because they are simply on a roll.

True enough.

EDIT: Either way, it is a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to see a Legion-specific squad outside of the special units.

riiight so my buying list has just gone from another 2 Xth Legion Contemptors to 20 of those beauties to make my Vet Tac Squads biggrin.png

I made the decision to sell a lot of stuff to get funds to finance my Tenth legion. So far raised £350. The contemptor, Manus, and now these guys top the list.

Sell a lot of stuff...

Read: vital organs (obtained legally and illegaly), small children, and old GW models among other decrepit practices :P

Can you legally obtain organs without working at a medical facility?

Well, most of the John Frums were your basic American serviceman, so no need for actual magic.

Couldn't hurt though.

Or you can go to China and wait for a public execution ;) after all if they sell them to hospitals why not the local resin-crack addict *twitch-twitch* :D

Ya see

this is what we need in america. Think about the social benefits!

Some dying kid gets their organs, I get my resin, and we rid the world of asinine, criminal people! Everyones a winner!

Perhaps we can build a mutual Island in the middle of the pond - you build from East I'll go from West biggrin.png plus I'm sure it would help society, after all prisons would be emptied far faster tongue.png

and before I get beat by the mods - I want models for the Gal Vorbak AND want to see Sallies :D imagine evil sallies :O

While disappointed that there's nothing VIII Legion related I feel for the Salamanders, they've had nothing whatsoever to whet their appetite. Maybe they're not ready etc but given the months of lead time you'd think they'd have ensured they had each different type of carrot to dangle to the masses. Ah well it's not to be this time which means there's going to be plenty of times in the coming months where the sons of Vulkan take centre stage,

After the royal shafting they got 10,000 years down the line I don't begrudge the Iron Hands a little bit of the limelight. Hopefully drawing more from the nightmare that 40k is becoming into the golden age of FW erm I mean 30K

is it just me that wishes the use of skulls and stuff would be toned back a bit? like..this was meant to be a time of enlightenment n all.. would of thought the fall into more gothic, dark skulls n jazz would be a gradual thing over the 10 thousand years (or just post-emperor's incarceration) instead of something that was already around as standard. no wonder they had so many compliances that needed to be met at the end of a bolter...

Those iron hands are ridiculously cool.

I kinda hope we see a word bearer unit besides the ashen circle... I'm honestly kinda disappointed with them. As much as I love their armour, I didn't really want a jump unit, I don't care for their poses, and I really don't "get" the chainblade design they've got going on. Holding out for Gal Vorbak.

Well the skulls have always been here, but I know what you mean. Aquilas and thunderbolts for 31st millenium, a few skulls are okay as maybe some honour for wounds suffered, sergeant rank and perhabs the chaplains, but thats it.

I don't know. The Astartes are warriors. And many of them come from planets that are war-torn. Medusa, the tribal-feudal planet where the physically frail were thrown out of the encampment to be forced to survive for one year in the elements before being allowed to come back. Fenris, a death world with warring tribes. Cthonia, warring gang-tribes in a global post-apocalyptic society. Nostramo. And the list goes on. Even the Terrans Astartes were veterans of some of the most brutal battles in the entire Great Crusade, excepting the earliest parts of the Unification of Terra.

Remember: Share information so we can all bask in the god-like wonder that is Forgeworld. All hail the Heresy!

Horus is coming, they showed it briefly but only the upper part and the head was a place holder, but he's coming, Lorgar is next though and Vulkan will be here at the beginning of next year. The next book will be out around Easter and will be the conclusion to the first trilogy.
