A tad disappointed none of them have an "official" chainglaive too... Oh well, online bits sellers are about to miss all their GK halberds and raptor CCWs.

Pretty sure the middle model has a chainglave. The angle is a bit off but if you look you can see a haft on the chainblade.

Edit: Need to look at the 4th pic on the FW site.

Contrary to my earlier opinions on them, the models are actually growing on me. Even all that flayed skin on the gloves is really fitting in the image I had of them. Only thing I'm underwhelmed by is as Kol says the blue. Both Flint and Heinrich have put out much better work than on show in that photo tbh

I have this disturbing image in my mind, of after-battle Night Lords knitting and crocheting their new skin-clothes and asking their mates "does this make me look fat?".

Seriously any kind of decorating that involves more work than simply tacking a few shreds of skin to the armour just seems kind of wrong to me.

I mean, they have to replace that stuff from time to time don't they?

I think the helmets look better painted now but I have the same complaint with some of the poses.

I would've preferred mkIV jump packs but thats ok....and why only 1 chainglaive?!!!!!!! wallbash.gif

Because you need variety of weapons. That axe for example. I just found a home for it.

On a side note, I'm betting 20 Internet Cookiez(watch out, high roller here!) that if you do something as simple as "add basing", the problem with the poses will magically resolve themselves.

On another side note, I'm really hyped for the Terror Squads and whatever else Forgeworld can dish out for the Night Lords. Come on Curzatar!

I have a drum made from animal leather that's older than my dad that was given to him by his dad as a souvenir from a trip to Egypt. That's over fifty something years old. If its well treated and taken care of, leather can last a quite literal lifetime.
They could have done with a little more skin, and some "homemade" legion iconography instead of official painted batwings and skulls. I do like their weapons though, it's just they seem to tell more of the squads purpose than the models themselves do. A wannabe Flayed One fellow here, a chap with an assortment of battlefield made meteor chain there, a guy with a bone fetish to rival Dorn's etc would have all told a little more of a story then these boys who rolled around in PVE glue and jumped into the nearest skinning pit.

Better not enough so we can add our own to suit our tastes than too much and it look ugly. At least in my opinion.

Though I agree about the skin sleeves, (defiantly a loss on that one) there is only one set of em in the box and the pose for that set is a little underwhelming anyway. A purchase of a close combat weapons set (which I already have bits left over from my last one)would fix that easily for me and the rest of the gloves can be painted normally like the old chaos marines/ some of the old dark angels used to be. Overall I think this squad is a win

Edit: addition: though the thought just occurred to me that the skin sleeves would work perfectly for a kakaphony orchestrator conversion... Just enough creepy to be a III legion freak.

Man, back and forth with the raptors, I am now back to hating them with the paintjob FW gave them. The terror masks and wings looks silly, still hate most of the poses, and the skin-sleeves are a weird touch. Whatever, I'll just keep building my own stuff, I'm usually happier that way.

Oh snaps! They *do* have a chain-glaive. It looks pretty badass curved like a katana.

I have to agree, the wings do look kinda like flames. I'm not huge on the blue either. At least forgeworld paints lightning pretty darn well.

I like the legion Night Lord helmets. The wings are less cartoony and the skull faces are really cool. I wish I could make some chaplain helmets out of them without having to go to the trouble of shaving off the wings, but alas. Their whole theme of being grisly murderers is also cool.

Also the forward-tilted jump packs are a really nice touch. Instead of having goofy RT canisters pointing straight up on their back they have an actual aggressively positioned jump pack. It's a subtle but appreciated detail.

Also why can't more terminator torsos accept full-sized power armor helmets in them like the ones posted? FW style terminators with Mk IV helmets look really cool.
