Midgard
So yesterday I picked up a Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer kit to serve as a dedicated transport for my TH/SS Assault Terminators. I intend to paint is as my DIY Chapter (Red Guard), Dark Angels successors who, shall we say, are not that concerned with the Fallen (they would generally execute them on sight as they would any other Chaos Marine, whether or not the Fallen are actually tainted). As a result, I will be mainly running them using Codex: Space Marines. That said, I do have quite a few Dark Angels-specific miniatures (courtesy of two Dark Vengeance sets, one with the extra Chaplain miniature), and would like to leave the option open to run my DIY Chapter using Codex: Dark Angels. In this case, my TH/SS Terminators will be treated as Deathwing Knights, and I already have a sizable collection of Terminators via AoBR and Dark Vengeance sets. My goal is to have a Land Raider configuration that would be a viable build in both codices, and that can be useful for both Assault Terminators/Deathwing Knights, and for any other flavor of Terminator (regular Deathwing or even AoBR Terminators). I don't play very often, but when I do, it will be at my local GW store, usually 2 vs 2, 1,500 points a side. With this in mind, would you suggest building my Land Raider as Crusader or Redeemer variant? What loadout would you suggest for maximum value for the points? Thank you in advance! Bryan Blaire
Magnetize it for Redeemer, Crusader, and standard lascannon variants. There should be more than one tutorial for it around, and you get a lot more versatility for the money that way. Lachdannan
Magnets are definatelt the way to go here. That way you can try out all the options. Seleucus
Again, magnetising all the options is the best way to go, but, if unable to do so, the Redeemer seems to be the preferred option by most guys. Redeemer literally gets one shot off and then it's dead. Many people like the crusader, but I've never ever seen it do well. IMHO, classic LR is best because it's so flexible.
