So.....

Assembled, primed with a 50:50 mix of Chaos black and Adeptus Battlegrey and drybrushed with 3 layers, Graveyard Earth, Kommando Khaki, Dheneb stone and washed with Gryphone Sepia. Here are my armless and unbased DW command squad to be.

Next step is to drybrush Dheneb stone and Bleached bone and then go back over the bits of the armour I wanna paint a different colour in Adeptus Battlegrey. Bases are done, just need to glue em to them and then I can get cracking with the arms and banner etc.

And when they grow up they become

Bear in mind that these two are the only two completed models that I have in this method so I'm hoping to refine as I go. I'm personally incredibly happy with em.http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8213/8440561957_8c77f48d47_b.jpg

I might just have to borrow this method if my other one fails me - they look good! :)

Only comment is that you have some areas where the grey primer is still visible. -> pic 2 second terminator near the legs, and the inner side of the shoulder armor. Otherwise they are good :)

I'm seeing more than a few mold lines still visable.  With all the time spent on the fantastic paint job, the mold lines really detract from the over all effect.  A few more minutes per model with the hobby knife to scrape them off and they would be perfect.  Just my 2c.

they look great in the first pic, a really cool blend of browns to bone....but drybrushing reveals All the little errors cry.gif and as Pbenner said spending a little extra time on mold line removal will see these guys from Zero to Hero quicksmart !! the potential is there for an epic unit.

keep at it !!!

And a sneak peek at the Belial I'm putting together.

The claw from Lufgt has 3 blades on it, goddamn forgeworld having one snap off, but I digress....I've since glued a regular LC blade on in it's place. The body is Lufgt, as is the right arm, the left arm is one of the LCs from the DWCS set as is the head as is the shoulderpad, the banner is made of parts from the DA upgrade sprue and on his back not pictured is the cloak from the DWCS.

  • 2 weeks later...

As promised. The white balance is off though, think I'm gonna need to work that one out on the camera before I shoot next time. I've an onboard camera flash going off a white wall to the left and a desk lamp to the right.

Anyways Top Row L-R Raphael, squad apothecary, Mr Mook, painted by my lovely Fiancee, Gabriel, squad banner carrier

Bottom Row L-R Uriel, Ariel, Michael, company champion.

C+C are most welcome.
