Kobrakei
Hey all Painted a test for my new Ravenwing/Greenwing army. I hate painting black but found a way I like now, although it remains very dark with minimal highlighting, which I personally prefer. Since this Pic was taken I've drilled the melta barrel and tidied the base, also drybrushing it with Astronomicon Gray. C&C welcome. BoogeyMan^
I may be wrong, but from the picture I can say that colours are a bit flat. Very light brown/purplish shade over red and grey/blueish over white would make those details little bit deeper and crisper. It would be nice to see other views of the model, though. Kobrakei
Thanks for the advice The red has been shaded with Carroberg Crimson and highlighted with Meph Red, and the Black is very subtly highlighted using Eshin Grey which is then washed down several times with Nuln Oil. I'm loathe to say this phrase, but it pops a lot more in real life. That's the joys of taking photos with an iPhone :P I might start to look at using a spot brown wash just to emphasise the depth of the reds.
