Messor
So while my next Index effort is undergoing the final preparations to make its maiden voyage through the Liber, I figured I'd try an experiment, hopefully something fun. Above is the badge of the army. I'm curious what you Liberites would name them with only this image, not knowing their allegiance or any of the usual details. I already named them myself, so keep tabs on your ideas and maybe you'll find a use for them further down the road. Can we shoot for three to five ideas each? Of course, feel free to come up with more, this is just about trying to stimulate the Liber's boundless creativity! edit: and boom, they're here. Based purely on the image, it gives off a Traitors vibe to me, so: The Jaws of Dylia (as in Crocodylia ) Warp Dragons Sons of Sobek (could be Loyal or Traitors) - Sobek being an Egyptian "Creator" God, alternative names being Sebek, Sochet, Sobk, Sobki, Soknopais who had the body of a human but the head of a crocodile Can't think of anything else as of yet....will have a ponder ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270943-i-tba/#findComment-3300089 Share on other sites
Octavulg
Thunder Lizards Warp Lurkers Templars Behemothic It's very traitory. The only way it couldn't be is if they were very, very tribal, I think. fivepointedstar
Glades of Fury! Swamp Lurkers Or may all time favorite theme ..... Swamp Dragons... It's been done before in the IA section by Sal of Manders but could be farther added onto. Or made in to a different chapters with only their name being similar. come to the Dragon side.... Brother Argent
Perhaps the Sons of Baru. Baru being the Australian Aboriginal tribe of the Yolngu's word for crocodile. But I think a really tribal loyalist would be awesome. Perhaps even based off Aboriginal culture. Messor
Awesome ideas so far, gente! I can see how you're getting the traitor vibe from it, which is good. The Jaws of Dylia, very nice. I spent a long time trying to come find a name that incorporated something actually crocodilian, and never found anything satisfying, but that's a great one. The Templars Behemothic would be a solid loyalist name I have an easy time seeing. Gotta admit, one character in fallout: nv ruined the term Thunder Lizard for me, else it would be a tempting one. The Swamp Dragons do look like the deserve some attention, an interesting concept. This one is shying away somewhat from the single dominant geography concept, but I'm certain swamps will factor in, probably with some prevalence. An Aboriginal inspired chapter would truly be epic! Please save that idea SP, or share it in the DIY Concept Thread, that should definitely be done. I also looked at mythological crocs/tribal words for names, but I eventually found the inspiration for them and so I didn't want a name from mythos that would distract from the force's real theme. Anyone else? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/270943-i-tba/#findComment-3300286 Share on other sites
