the emperor is scottish
I wanted to know the general feeling towards the fFW angron model. I like it but not how I'd represent the red angel. So if there's anyone not liking the model post a picture of your own or if you've messed around with fw model. Brother Immolator
I dont have a model not do Intend to ever have one, but I echo your feelings. I feel that the model is subpar on all departments as far as Angorn is consearned. Grotsmasha
@ Brother Immolator: What about the model makes it sub-par? Have you seen one in person? Is it the posing or the details/lack off? Is is the scale should it be bigger/smaller? I'm not having a go, but am genuinely curious. Brother Immolator
Perhaps I used poor words for it. I mean that it doesnt catch the essence of Angorn. Or the Image I had in mind for him. It is a super detailed model, but IMHO its not Angorn, if he didnt have the twin axes (which are small IMHO) I would have passed it as someone else. Yes I did see it up close. The detail and size are excellent...He just isnt Angorn...IMHO Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271048-angron-model/#findComment-3301412 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
Sweet, I get what you're saying. Once I've finished mine, I intend on getting a second one to convert. I'd like to swap out his lefthand axe and have it imbeded in one of the falling marines, leaving his left hand to be modelled reaching into the other marine, tearing out his heart. Brother Turok
I am a long time customer of FW products and have to say their quality has been starting to go downhill as of late.... I have had to ask for replacement FW products 3-4 times in the past two years compared to never before in 10+years of purchases. I also have recieved some FW products made of the crappy finecast material. As for Angron, he is the best quality, most detailed FW sculpt I have. He is HUGE. No mould lines, bubbles, etc (and I went over him with a fine toothed comb due to the price he is). I couldn't be happier with the sculpt. The only problem I see is his official color scheme really seems to dull down his details, which is why I am scared to paint him. I have also purchased a lot of the kabuki models 'primarch' kol minis, including the "angron" one. They do not compare with the FW one (esp in size) and I feel the FW model represents him acurately (anrgy, commanding, bezerk-crazy, huge compared to a tactical marine, and not one to sit on the sidelines). In a nutshell he is pricey but definitely worth it. But to each their own, JMTC. TheForgottenAngel
For me he embodies the rage and nobility of The Red Angel just fine. Everyone has a different idea how he should've looked but this portrayal looks realistic yet scifi enough. I would've Hated to see him with grotesquely large axes and bulkier framed body. This sculpt is what I think of when I picture the gladiator primarch during battle. the emperor is scottish
Making a primarch is always going to be mind numbingly difficult cause ever person has a different idea and image of how a primarch should look. I'm not saying I don't like the model because it looks fantastic, the detail is mind blowing. I think I'd like to see him with his glaive or arms stretched out to the side roaring and screaming into the skys. I also love the sculpt done by him standing rather serenely with his glaive in one hand and an opponents heart in the other. Saul Invictus
I didn't like it at first, it just seemed off. Then I saw it person, and wow, it's beautiful. The way the cape flows around him isn't shown on the FW pictures, the snarl on his face is so clear it's scary, the size of him... The thing about it, I find, is that the FW pics make him look top heavy and too broad, but that's not the case at all. It makes me wee a little when I think they'll do Guilliman one day. Razic
Im thinking of painting my Angron in the World Eater's blue and white, with gold trim, I too agree the official colour scheme is bland. I've been hoping someone with alot more skill at painting does this first so I have something to go off of. BLACK BLΠFLY
There is no reason why you have to follow their scheme. I think and blue would look good. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271048-angron-model/#findComment-3302282 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
I think it's an inspiring sculpt - almost drew me to doing a World Eaters army all by itself Can't wait to see what's next on the production line. One thing though, FW has always been hit and miss on quality, but I think that it is improving. avaccaro
I just saw the angron model on FW's website, it looks amazing, wish I could see it in person. If they do indeed roll out with one for each primarch, I will be the first to buy The Lion!!!! Also, what do you think they will do about Omegon and Alpharius? They are one in the same, but 2 at the same time!! 2 models double the price? Either way, can't wait!! the emperor is scottish
If the same level of detail is put into each primarch then we'r in for a treat. I can't wait to see perturabo. I was tempted myself into stocking up on a we ph force but my love for the Iron warriors is total.
